If you remember, we’ve been hearing rumors about a 15-inch version of Apple’s MacBook Air for a while now. First, Apple was supposed to introduce this new laptop in its Spring event, but it seems that the introduction of this laptop will happen earlier than that and during the WWDC 2023 event. Recently, news and information about the processor of this laptop has been published, and it seems to be the 15-inch version of the MacBook Air It is supposed to be equipped with the same M2 processor.
M2 processor for MacBook Air 15
New news has been published by Mark Gurman, a respected Apple analyst at Bloomberg, and as Mark said, Apple will officially introduce the 15-inch MacBook Air on June 5th during the WWDC 2023 event. This information was published from here that a device of this laptop equipped with an M2 processor was seen on the developer panel of the App Store.
The M2 processor used in the MacBook Air 15 will have an 8-core main processor and a 10-core GPU. The configuration of the cores of this processor is just like the current version of the M2 processor, which is used in the 13.6-inch MacBook Air and the new generation iPad Pro. With this account, the processing performance of the 15-inch version of the MacBook Air will be significantly similar to its 13.6-inch version, and we are not going to see any strange changes in this regard.
On the other hand, the base model of the 15-inch MacBook Air will be equipped with 8 GB of RAM, just like its 13.6-inch version. Of course, the Apple company provides users with the possibility of ordering versions with more RAM. The exact laptop seen on the App Store is a Mac device named “Mac 15.3” and its operating system is macOS 14. In addition to the new Mac, Apple will provide developers with the macOS 14 operating system during the WWDC 2023 event for testing and development.
That being said, the overall design of the MacBook Air 15 is supposed to be similar to the MacBook Air 13.6, and the difference between the two laptops boils down to a larger display and battery in the 15-inch model. Of course, all this information is unofficial and we have to wait until the official date of its introduction to find out the official specifications of this laptop.
