Marandi: ‌ There will be no agreement until the sanctions are lifted

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, Mohammad Marandi, a political analyst in Vienna, Austria, said that some issues were resolved in the Vienna talks, but others remained.

“The Iranian delegation hopes to reach an agreement soon, but there are still important differences,” he told Al-Mayadin.

“Unless the Europeans and the Americans accept Iran’s demands and adhere to the nuclear deal, it is not possible to reach an agreement, and the Europeans and the Americans must accept that Iran will not give them concessions to violate the nuclear deal again,” Marandi said.

“If the Americans and Europeans show flexibility and rationality, the remaining issues can be resolved very quickly,” he added.

“We are surprised by what the Westerners have said about reaching 98% of the agreements, and it is not possible to reach an agreement unless the nuclear deal guarantees the lifting of sanctions and its verification,” he said.

“Ignore the deadlines they are talking about and we do not care,” Marandi said.

Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, tweeted today (Tuesday) as the eighth round of Vienna talks on lifting sanctions continued: “The real lifting of sanctions means that Iran enjoys reliable and lasting economic benefits.”

Shamkhani pointed out: Proven American responsibility is the most important threat to any agreement. He added: “Truth, testing and providing an integral part of the agreement is a good deal.” (More details)
