According to Mehr News Agency, quoted by Anatolia News Agency, Mikhail Bogdanov, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin for West Asian and African countries, told reporters: The meeting of the deputy foreign ministers of Iran, Turkey, Russia and Syria focused on the normalization of relations. Turkey and Syria will be held on June 21 (Wednesday next week) in the city of Astana in Kazakhstan, and the Russian delegation will leave for this city on June 20.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for West Asian and African countries continued to say: “The Russian project regarding the road map is ready.” Our duty is to consult with partners and advance this work. I hope that we will make serious progress in the Astana negotiations.
It should be noted that the Moscow quadrilateral meeting was held on May 10, 2023 with the presence of Mevlut Cavusoglu, Sergey Lavrov, Hossein Amirabdollahian and Faisal Al-Maqdad, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, Iran and Syria.
According to Anatoly, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Russia, Iran and Syria decided after this meeting to prepare a road map to advance Turkey-Syria relations.
The parties also emphasized in the joint final statement of the meeting that according to Security Council Resolution No. 2254 and the statements published in the framework of the Astana meetings, they attach importance to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and the fight against all forms of terrorism.
