According to IRNA, a meeting between members of the board of directors of the Karate Federation and coaches of the Iranian men’s and women’s national team with Seyed Hamid Sajjadi was held today (Tuesday) at the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
In this meeting, which was held to review the latest conditions of the sport of karate in the 2022 Asian Games, Seyed Hassan Tabatabai, President of the Karate Federation, presented a report on the latest situation of this sport to the Minister of Sports.
Karate has always been one of the most successful and medal-winning disciplines in Iran in the Asian Games, so much so that in the last round of the 2018 Asian Games hosted by Jakarta, Iranian karate succeeded in winning two gold, three silver and three bronze medals in the men’s and women’s divisions.
Sajjad Ganjzadeh and Bahman Asgari were the golden karate of Iran in Jakarta. In these competitions, Amir Mehdizadeh, Rozita Alipour and Taravat Khaksar won silver medals, and Zabihullah Pourshib, Hamideh Abbas Ali and Pegah Zanganeh won bronze medals.
