Michel Aoun: We will not back down from Lebanon’s right to use oil and gas resources


According to Fars News Agency International Group, Lebanese President Michel Aoun said Monday afternoon that the country is facing pressures aimed at preventing Lebanon from exploiting its oil and gas resources.

Aoun, who hosted a Lebanese parliamentary delegation, stressed that indirect negotiations with the interim Zionist regime over maritime demarcation are facing many difficulties.

He stated that he would not back down from Lebanon’s right to use its resources and gas, adding that negotiations with the Zionist regime were suspended because the regime refused to negotiate on line 29.

According to a plan submitted by Tel Aviv to the United Nations in 2011, the disputed sea area is 860 square kilometers, but Lebanon objected to this plan, presenting its map showing the disputed area as 1430 square kilometers, according to which His field of work is one of the disputed areas.
