Microsoft is working on a gaming Surface Laptop + specifications

Microsoft’s Surface series portfolio is very diverse and includes various series from Pro to Laptop and Studio, but it seems that the company is working on the first gaming Surface Laptop with a focus on the target market of gamers. The basic specifications of Microsoft’s gaming laptops have also been published.

According to the specifications and information published by the Prime Gaming site, Surface Gaming gaming laptops will be considered among the high-end gaming laptops in the market. So far, Microsoft has only worked on thin and light devices as well as Windows tablets, and this is the company’s first experience in the field of gaming laptops.

Technical specifications of Surface Laptop Gaming

Regarding the technical specifications, Surface Laptop Gaming can be ordered with one of these two processors – 12-core Core i5 12500H and 14-core Core i7 12700H processor, both of which are from Intel’s 12th generation Alder Lake processors. The memory of this laptop is from 16 to 32 GB and is of LPDDR6X type. Regarding the graphics card, the model equipped with a Core i5 processor will be supplied with a 4 GB RTX 3050 Ti graphics card, and the model equipped with a Core i7 processor will be supplied with an 8 GB RTX 3070 Ti graphics card.

Also, this laptop is going to be equipped with a 16-inch PixelSense Flow display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and Dolby Vision technology. In addition, this laptop can be ordered with a 256 GB to 2 TB SSD, which, of course, can be changed and upgraded, and there is no need to worry about this. Microsoft company has announced 15 to 16 hours of charging time for this laptop, depending on the Gunfig, which is a very good number for a gaming laptop, but we have to see if these numbers are real in practice. On the sides of this laptop there are also three USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, a 3.5 mm combo port and a Surface Connect port to connect to the Surface Dock.

Price and availability

The body of this laptop is made of magnesium and aluminum and it is available in two colors, platinum silver and matte black. Since the Surface Laptop Gaming is a gaming laptop, the Xbox software is installed on it by default, and a one-month Game Pass Ultimate subscription will also be bundled with this laptop. There is no information about the price and availability of this laptop yet, but Microsoft will most likely unveil this laptop during the CES 2023 event.
