Minister of Roads and Urban Development: Do not raise rents outside the decree

According to Tejarat News, quoting خبرآنلاین Rostam Ghasemi in a TV program this afternoon, while pointing to the government’s measures to organize the housing rental market, said: “One of the most important issues these days is to increase housing rents. The maximum increase in rents in Tehran is 25%. We ask property owners to increase rents.” Their housing should not exceed this figure.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development said: “This percentage increase in rents has been approved by expert work in the market regulation headquarters.”
He added: in case of violations, violators will be dealt with according to the approvals of the market regulation headquarters.
While warning the violators, Ghasemi emphasized: “We warn the tenants and landlords not to act outside the scope of registering the rent rate in the systems.”
Today, the meeting of the Market Regulation Headquarters was chaired by Mohammad Mokhber, First Vice President, and this headquarters determined the ceiling of rent increase in Tehran and other cities by reviewing the policy package of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development in the field of housing.
In this meeting, the ceiling of increasing the rent of housing compared to the rent of 1400 was approved in Tehran by a maximum of 25 percent, in metropolises with a population of over one million, by 20 percent, and in other cities by 15 percent.
According to the decree, the government penitentiary organization was obliged to deal with delinquent real estate consultants who do not comply with this increase ceiling.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development is obliged to reflect and introduce vacant housing units to the Tax Affairs Organization to collect taxes in accordance with the law.
