Minsk: Deploying nuclear weapons in Belarus is a response to threats

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, the representative of Belarus in the United Nations emphasized that Minsk will never attack a government.
Speaking at the UN Security Council meeting, he added: “Belarus will never attack another government, but if necessary, it will respond to any threat with all its capabilities.”
The representative of Belarus at the United Nations added: “The idea of deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus is a response to the threats we face, and this action is in line with the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Saturday (April 5) that he reached an agreement with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko to deploy tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of this neighboring country.
Putin said that such an action is not a violation of nuclear non-proliferation agreements, because the United States has also deployed nuclear weapons on the territory of European countries.
The President of Russia added that the process of building a facility to store his country’s nuclear weapons in Belarus will be completed by July 1.
He stated that Russia has currently deployed 10 aircraft capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.
The end of the message.
