Moghanloo: The situation of the national taekwondo team is not good / work is hard but possible



In an interview with IRNA, Bijan Moghanloo, who has recently led the Iranian men’s national taekwondo team, said: I was presented according to the circumstances, I was finally selected as the head coach of the national team.

He added: “The current situation of our country in taekwondo in the adult age group is not good at all and this issue is quite obvious.” In practice, upgrading this team is a difficult task.

The head coach of the national taekwondo team stated: Currently, four of our players are allowed to participate in the Grand Prix. Others are a young generation with raw potential who need to be trained to join the Grand Prix team in the future and have a say in important competitions.

He continued: “To start work, we divided the taekwondo practitioners into two groups, some of whom are Grand Prix and others will participate in the first selection stage.” We also announced the conditions of the people. We tried not to miss anyone and according to the circumstances, some of the top players will enter the national team.

Moghanloo added: “As we approach the Asian Championships, these people will hold a selection with the Grand Prix taekwondo fighters to send the best people.”

Regarding his colleagues in the technical staff, he added: Majid Aflaki and Massoud Hajizareh will be my colleagues. I also introduced a bodybuilding coach who I hope will reach an agreement.

He said: “We must have a good set in this difficult path to have the maximum potential of maximum utilization.” It is hard work but it is possible and with empathy we can reach the peak. At first, we do not have an easy job and we must be able to make the most of our resources with national effort and a wide range of vision.
