Mohammad Marandi: The United States is trying to introduce itself as the “world police” – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, “Mohammad Marandi”, the advisor of the Iranian delegation in the negotiations on lifting the sanctions in Vienna, referring to the confiscation of Iranian oil cargo in Greece, said: “The United States is trying to introduce itself as the world police.”

Marandi, who was interviewed by Al-Mayadin TV, added: “Iran has nothing to do with money laundering and oil smuggling, and the United States is trying to introduce itself as the world police, and the confiscated Iranian oil shipment should be referred because the US action is theft.” Are.

“The United States and Europe need both a nuclear deal and oil,” he said. The current problem with the Vienna talks is not the removal of the IRGC from the list of terrorist organizations, but the guarantee that the United States will remain in any agreement.

Marandi also stressed that the main issue for Iran in Vienna is the guarantee that the United States will not reach an agreement and withdraw from it again and again. The important thing for Iran is for the United States to ensure that it stays in the agreement, invests and the sanctions end.

In the end, Marandi said: When the European negotiator came to Tehran, he presented new ideas and Iran also presented new ideas to him.

It is worth mentioning that the Greek government on Wednesday seized a ship under the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran off the coast of this country and confiscated its cargo with a court order and in coordination with the US government.

Following the seizure of a cargo ship flying the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Greek waters, the charge d’affaires of the Greek Embassy in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday and was notified of the strong protest by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The seizure came after the United States placed it on its sanctions list yesterday, claiming that an international network led by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had helped facilitate the sale of Iranian oil.
