Mohammad Rasoulov and Al Ahmad were arrested in Tehran on Friday evening

According to Fars news agency, Mohammad Rasoulov and Mustafa Al-Ahmad were arrested by the order of the judicial system for causing incitement and disrupting the psychological security of the society in the midst of the heartbreaking incident in Metropol Abadan.

According to Fars, these two people were arrested in Tehran this evening. Last month, Mohammad Rasoulov and Mustafa Al-Ahmed started to prepare a statement under the title of a group of cinematographers and entitled “Put down your gun”. This statement, which obviously had a subversive tone, was published in the cyberspace in the form of urging to break the national security of our country, and finally it was accompanied by the acquittal of 43 artists whose names were illegally included in the announcement list.

It should be mentioned that Mohammad Rasoulov had a history of judicial conviction for acts that undermined national security in the past years, and that he has been freely working and making films by abusing the Islamic framework.

A look at the anti-regime activities of Mohammad Rasoulov

Rasoulov, who was one of the activists of Fitna 2008, was sentenced to six years in prison after his trial in December 2009, however, his prison sentence was reduced to one year in the appeals court with Rafat Islami.
This director, whose name became popular with anti-establishment and anti-establishment films such as “Manuscripts Don’t Burn” and “Laird”, has repeatedly sent his dark works full of lies to international festivals without permission. “Manuscripts Don’t Burn” is a film that accuses the Iranian security apparatus and is actually a remake of the German film “The Lives of Others” by Florian Henkel von Donnersmarck. Despite the extensive publicity surrounding this work, the film is more of a propaganda work and a political statement than a work of art. “Manuscripts do not burn” was screened in several festivals, until Mohammad Rasulov decided to make “Laird” by obtaining a license, contrary to previous unlicensed collaborations. The film “Laird” has followed the same political approach as Rasoulov’s before, this time even more colorfully aimed at blackening and highlighting systematic corruption. In this film, Rasoulov is clearly a defender of Baha’i rights.

In recent years, Rasoulov has always been among the people who have formed various campaigns against the regime. From the events of Aban Mah and Khuzestan to this Metropol and Mohun’s statement “Put down your gun”.
