More than 112,000 people visited Shadgan International Wetland in Khuzestan in Nowruz 1402


According to Aria Heritage report, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khuzestan, Hassan Nasser said: From March 16 last year to April 15, 1402, 253 thousand 876 people visited Shadgan city.

The secretary of the executive staff of Shadgan Nowruz travel services stated that 112,268 tourists visited Shadgan Wetland during Nowruz, and this number of passengers visited the Wetland in five docks and on 155 boats.

He prepared 25 suites in the Shadgan teacher’s house for the purpose of accommodating Nowruz tourists, setting up sanitary facilities on the lagoon, painting boats, preparing life jackets, setting up an exhibition of handicrafts and souvenirs from Shadgan, holding Shadgan Nowruz on the deck of the Shaima ship, and completing the tourism infrastructure of Hadba Khanafre in the south of the lagoon. Shadgan International Wetland with an area of ​​more than 500,000 hectares is located in the south of Khuzestan, which is the largest wetland registered in the country in the list of international wetlands.

This wetland is connected to the Persian Gulf through numerous estuaries, which is a suitable environment for all kinds of aquatic animals, birds, rodents, domestic and wild animals, with fresh, brackish and brackish water.

Due to the mild weather in the winter season, Shadgan Wetland is home to more than 110 plant species, 174 native and migratory bird species, including Gilanshah and marble duck, 36 mammal species, three amphibian species, and 9 reptile species.

Shadgan International Wetland is limited to Shadgan from the north, Bahmanshir river from the south, and Darkhoin road, Abadan and Khormoussi waters from the west.

The existence of several villages inside the Shadgan wetland has turned this area into the “Venice” of Iran.
