Morteza Najafi: In “Seven Khans of Esfandiar”, each Khan has his own color

According to the Fars news agency’s theater reporter, Najafi expressed the characteristics of mythological stories and said: In such works, the light design is very dependent on the stage design, and we tried to use colors in the light design. He added: My decision was that in “Seven Khans of Esfandiar” every Khan has his own color and I hope I succeeded in this decision.
The lighting designer of the “Heft Khan Esfandiar” show stated: We had conversations with Sohail Eshraghi as a set and costume designer for the lighting design, Sohail used many mythological elements in the stage design, and my lighting model had to be such that those dimensions that Sohail I could show the image and decor in different ways.
He continued: It is very interesting that those who see the show and chat with me about the light point out that the light layers have made the scene more dimensional.
Referring to other works he has done in the field of theater, Najafi said: I have done lighting for almost all of Mr. Parsaei’s musical works. With Mr. Ghanizadeh, we went to the performance of “Mississippi sitting and dying” twice in Vahdat Hall. I experienced the work of “Crime and Punishment” with Mr. Tharvati and I did some work with Ashkan Khatibi. Of course, I also collaborated with other directors in the field of theater, and Esfandiar is my latest work.
He said about the difference between theater and cinema: For me, theater is a little more difficult. It’s actually like you have to flash a movie back to back. There are hall restrictions and this is an important difference. Besides, my origin and habitat is cinema and I am much more comfortable there. But I like theater very much and it is very sweet for me, but it has its own difficulties and limitations. I always tried to use these limitations as opportunities.
In response to how satisfied he is with the result of the new experience, the cinematographer of the show “Heft Khan Esfandiar” said: People and those who come and see the work should say whether they are satisfied with the result or not. But the messages we get show that we were successful in the lighting part of Esfandiar’s show and people like it; I am very satisfied with this.
In the end, Morteza Najafi said: Basically, I like “Heft Khan Esfandiar” a lot, and among the activities I did, this work is special to me because it has Iranian roots. “Seven Khan Esfandiar” is the best show among fourteen and fifteen works I have done and I am very happy to work with Mr. Parsai again. Their beauty is that they do great things and they do great things well; He is a pleasure to work with.
