Moscow has called for a UN inquiry into Ukraine’s biological weapons


Russian Senator Konstantin Kasachev today (Monday) stressed that the United States was deliberately hiding information about Pentagon-backed biological weapons research in Ukraine, according to Fars News Agency. Initiate possible violations of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC).

According to the Russian news agency Sputnik, Kasachev stated that the parliamentary commission on biological laboratories had received evidence from Russian diplomats that the United States and Ukraine were not complying with the convention.

Meanwhile, Irina Yarovaya, the deputy speaker of the Russian Duma, said that Washington and Kiev had provided false information to the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Weapons.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said Moscow was concerned about US biological weapons activities not only in Ukraine but around the world.

In March, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that 30 Pentagon-funded biological laboratories involved in the development of biological weapons elements were located in Ukraine. The main goal of this project was to investigate dangerous infections that are endemic to Ukraine. Moscow also said that Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, was linked to funding the US Department of Defense’s biological military program.
