Moscow: Negotiations about Ukraine should be held with America first

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian Kremlin Palace, said on Sunday that considering that Ukraine acts according to Washington’s dictates, any dialogue about Ukraine should be held first of all with the United States.

“Obviously, Washington has a decisive vote and it is impossible to discuss anything with Kyiv,” he said in an interview with Russia’s One Channel.

Peskov added: “Kiev has a president, Mr. Zelensky, the legitimate president of the Ukrainians, and theoretically it is possible to reach any agreement with him, but considering the experience of March, these agreements have no meaning because they are urgent and based on Foreign dictates can be canceled.”

The Kremlin spokesman added: “Therefore, at least, it is necessary to talk to someone else who was a supporter and instigator.”

He emphasized: “Russia will continue to defend its interests.” We may not be successful everywhere, we may have certain failures, but we cannot be subordinate to anyone. It is impossible”.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Palace said that the willingness of the United States to listen to the concerns of the Russian Federation, including security concerns, could be a platform for a dialogue between President Putin and Biden.

Peskov said that if the US is ready to address Russia’s security concerns and strive for better relations between the two countries, this could be a platform for talks between Putin and Biden.

In response to a question about what could be the basis for negotiations, he stated: America’s desire to return to the situation in December-January and raise the question, “What the Russians are offering may not be suitable for all of us, but maybe it’s worth it.” to sit with them at the negotiating table? I mean the kind of draft documents that were sent to both Brussels and Washington.

Tensions have escalated over Ukraine over the past few days and Moscow has warned that Kiev plans to use a dirty bomb to provoke a major crisis and blame it on Russia.

Peskov’s comment came after the Russian president said in early October that there is no need to talk with Biden because there is no basis for negotiation.

End of message.
