Moscow: The anti-Iranian resolution of the UN Human Rights Council is illegitimate – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, citing Tass, Gennady Gatilov, the permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations and other international organizations based in Geneva, referring to the adoption of the anti-Iranian resolution, called it illegitimate.

Gatilov emphasized that such a decision was taken “purely in the background and with a political mindset” and its purpose is to make the Iranian authorities guilty simply because the West does not like them (Iranian authorities).

He emphasized: We consider this (resolution) illegal because such actions should be carried out with the permission of the country in question. In this particular case, no consultation or agreement on the establishment of such a mechanism with Iran has been carried out. All these measures are aimed at exerting political pressure on Iran.

According to him, the founders of this proposal should focus on their own country’s internal problems, because otherwise, “all these actions will be a clear example of double standards.”

The aforementioned anti-Iranian resolution, which the United States and other Western countries were seriously seeking to approve, was recently approved by 25 members in favor and 6 countries, including Armenia, China, Cuba, and 16 abstentions.
