Mothers of the heroes of “Rukh Mader”; The necessity of narrating war stories

According to Fars News Agency’s Radio and Television reporter, Amirhossein Ekati, the producer of the documentary series “Rukh Madar”, the second season of which will be aired from today, December 11, on Ik Sima channel, said about the production of the new season of this work: The audience’s reception of the first season made Let’s start making the second season. In fact, after the broadcast of 6 episodes, the opinion of the managers of Channel 1 and the organization was attracted and they supported the creation of a new season in 26 episodes.

He continued: This work has been shown in front of the camera in different cities of Iran, and the content and form of the work is in a way that is seriously different from the works that have been produced in this field before. In fact, we took a deeper and more serious look at the lives of the mothers of the martyrs and the cultural and social perspective that the loved ones can provide to the society as a model. In the form space, we tried to go in a direction that is more story-like and more attractive to the audience.

The most important difference of the mother’s face is creating a story-telling atmosphere

Pointing out that he is interested in storytelling in films and documentaries, this documentary maker has always tried to create a story world in films and documentaries that is attractive to the audience, and raised the following: the most important and serious issue that separates “Mother’s Face” from What makes other works different in this regard was creating a story-telling and narrative atmosphere for all the stories we chose. Therefore, in the research and subject finding phase, we tried to choose those who have drama in their story so that we can use it for storytelling and in fact use the space of content and form and go for making the collection more fictional.

Ekati emphasized: The form we chose and used for “Rukh Madar” is docudrama so that this documentary series will be more dramatic in the new season and we can have a more fictional documentary.

Challenges of working outside the capital

About the challenges of this project, work has been done in several Iranian cities, he said: When we decided to record and produce a large part of the collection outside the capital, we faced various challenges that have their own advantages and disadvantages. One of its advantages was having a more attractive and different visual atmosphere, which is more pleasant for the audience because it takes him away from the urban atmosphere and apartment living.

The families of the martyrs were very cooperative

The producer of Rokh Madar added: Although this issue leaves the hand of the producer of the work free to be more creative in producing visual content, there are also limitations and the lack of sufficient facilities that make the work more difficult. Also, one of our challenges was that due to the high age of the subjects, we had a limited time to produce the work, although while paying attention to this issue, we proceeded obsessively and meticulously to record according to the schedule. It goes without saying that the family of the martyrs cooperated with us in terms of communication and helped a lot to facilitate the production process. The kindness of the 26 families we worked with included me and my group.

The necessity of telling the stories of the imposed war for the new generation

In another part of his talk, Ekati raised the issue of paying attention to the lives of martyrs’ mothers and making a documentary about their lives: the imposed war is one of the important points of our contemporary history, which, in my opinion, should be addressed seriously, and the stories of that period should be narrated in order to be passed on to the new generation. It is necessary. Now, in order to be able to convey these issues to the new generation in the best possible way and in a lasting way, we must start producing documentaries and films in the media and art space. Now making a documentary in this field is more important because it must tell the truth.

In Rokh Madar, the mother is the hero of the story

In the end, he noted: I remember that so far a documentary series has dealt with the personal life of martyrs’ mothers, and the mother is defined under her martyr, but in “Mother’s Face”, the mother is the hero of the story, and we define the martyr’s educational environment under the mother’s view and worldview. . We tried to narrate the story of martyrs’ mothers as heroes of “Mother’s face” in such a way that it is not limited to a specific stratum and spectrum, it is attractive for today’s young generation and they can relate to it. All my efforts and my group have been to make this happen and to have a say in the work so that everyone will join us.

The documentary series “Mother’s Rokh” directed by Hamid Mashaikhi, Mehdi Ansari, Seyed Mostafa Seyed Hosseini and Ali Alaei has a poetic narrative of the life story of 26 mothers of holy defense martyrs and will be aired every day at 17:30 from Saturday, December 11th.
