MPs protested: Do not scare users of domestic digital currency exchanges

Two lawmakers recently protested the central bank’s decision to force the symbol and block the doors of domestic digital currency exchanges. One of the lawmakers warned the central bank to focus on gaining the trust of users of domestic exchange offices instead of intimidating them.

According to digital currency and to Quoted From ISNA, Ali Babaei Karnami, Deputy Chairman of the Social Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, wrote in an article on his personal Twitter page:

The parliament’s insistence on regulating the activities of Iranian users in domestic digital currency exchanges does not mean blocking the portal or any other restriction without any other law. The central bank should focus on gaining the trust of users of Iranian platforms, not intimidating them.

On the other hand, Mostafa Taheri, a member of the Industries and Mines Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, criticized the central bank’s behavior in granting official payment gateways to Iranian platforms and blocking them from exchanging digital currencies.

These statements have been made following the blocking of the payment gateway of some Iranian digital currency exchange offices and their obligation to receive this symbol. Taheri sees the resulting problems as the shutdown of Internet businesses and the cessation of innovation and widespread disruption of the digital economy.

This member of the digital economy faction of the parliament has said that the continuation of the current trend and the obstruction of the activities of digital currency collections will cause an influx of Iranian users to foreign exchange offices.

The requirement for Internet businesses to receive the e-Trust symbol from the Central Bank, despite the opportunity to obtain a license from the Ministry of Silence, has drawn criticism from the owners of these businesses.

At yesterday’s session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Dehnavi, another member of the Industries and Mines Commission, said that the requirement to receive this document and the disagreement between the Ministries of Economy, Silence and the Central Bank would affect 350,000 young businesses.

On the other hand, experts have considered the granting of payment gateways to Iranian exchange offices as digital currency as a cause of users’ distrust of these platforms, which will cause problems for the national economy.
