MSI Prestige 16 laptop with Meteor Lake processor shown at Computex

At the Computex 2023 exhibition, we saw the presentation of the Prestige 16 laptop with the unreleased Meteor Lake Intel processor from MSI. Actually the website Notebookcheck Spotted this new system at the MSI booth using an unspecified Intel processor. But everything is clear from the name of the Prestige 16 laptop based on the Meteor Lake architecture and a short review in Windows.
At Computex this year, Intel didn’t hold a public event, but invited some reporters and media members to showcase its next-generation laptop platform. The new Meteor Lake processor uses the VPU AI unit, which is actually what Intel aims to use for modern artificial intelligence tasks.
As we said, MSI displayed a notebook with the full name Prestige 16 EVO/Studio in its booth, which uses a new body and, of course, contains an unknown product from Intel. In fact, Check Notebook members have noticed the name Genuine Intel(R) 0000 for the processor by looking in the Device Manager, which is usually related to engineering samples.

Of course, it is not possible to understand the type of architecture in this way, but with a brief examination of the number of physical and logical cores, it is clear that we are witnessing a new configuration of 16 cores and 22 threads. The current lineup of the Raptor Lake series does not include such a model and only has up to 20 threads. So this is the same processor that Intel presented in its private presentation. This example uses 6 powerful cores, 6 low-consumption cores in the CPU section and 2 low-consumption cores in the SoC section.

Of course, in the meantime, the MSI team also used a wrong press release in which the thirteenth (13) generation processor series and the Core i7 name were used. It was already confirmed that Intel will use a new naming convention for its Meteor Lake mobile processors, such as the Core Ultra 7 1003H.

According to MSI, the new Prestige laptop will be introduced in the fourth quarter of 2023, which aligns with Intel’s plans for Meteor Lake notebook chips.
