Muradkhani: A celebrity means someone whose attention is greater than anything else/Instagram promotes violence in Iran

According to Fars News Agency’s Radio and TV reporter, Ali Muradkhani, a media expert, appearing in the “Youth Procession” program of Radio Javan, said about the phenomenon of celebrity and its difference from an artist or a social activist: We must first know that every artist is not necessarily a celebrity. An actor may not have become the negative definition of celebrity, because celebrity has meaning. A celebrity means someone whose actions in the virtual space and attracting attention in the virtual space prevail over everything else.

Muradkhani continued: A person may eat, but because he has followers, his art is to eat in different restaurants. This person is a celebrity. But it may not have art and only sexual attraction in the world. However, he is a celebrity because he has attracted attention in cyberspace.

*Many artists are not celebrities

This media expert explained: On the other hand, many artists are not celebrities in this sense. For example, the late Khosro Shakibaei, the late Nzamzi, the late Ustad Jamshid Meshaikhi and the late Gholamreza Takhti were never celebrities. These people had extraordinary ability and were known for that ability. Otherwise, the media, especially the virtual space, is inauthentic, and people who are not necessarily capable people may become famous in that space.

This radio presenter said that a post on Instagram is seen when it comes to the Explore section and receives a lot of likes, comments or views, adding: Each of these events is based on attracting attention. Since virtual space is emotion-oriented, it makes young people and teenagers more attracted to this space.

Moradkhani pointed to Elnaz Shakerdoost and her comments in the cyberspace and said: Although Ms. Elnaz Shakerdoost’s performance was constantly praised in the “Sinmachi” program, she wrote an article about the constitution, which is completely false. They did not even correct this article for a few days. All his audience can see this article in the virtual space. Now who should prove this to the audience that this is not true.

He stated that almost 80% of the content in the media is false and then denied, the audience who hears it for the first time will not understand it afterwards, he clarified: maybe he will not hear it, he will not believe the truth of the content and… As a result, maybe 20% of the lost water can be returned to the atmosphere.

In response to the question of one of the young people who contacted the “Youth Procession” and about his concern about knowing celebrities and how to treat them, this media expert said: These days are the days when the political atmosphere prevails over everything else. Is it the first time that a famous figure wants to take political action in the world? No, America’s first-class artists sing on the inauguration day of the President of the United States. By the way, they are more active than us. But in America, all political actions are limited to two parties. That is, they either support the Republicans or they support the Democrats.

* All over the world there are laws that do not promote violence in cyberspace

Muradkhani stated that no one is pulling a dagger towards the sovereignty and integrity of the American system, and clarified: This does not happen anywhere in the world. All over the world, except Iran, there are laws that do not promote violence. That is, the company Meta, which owns Instagram, warns the user, wherever you want to create violence, that the actions are an example of promoting violence. But when the anti-revolutionary media page officially teaches Molotov cocktails for Iranian protests twice a day. Not only are they not deleted, but they are more likely to be explored and exposed to people.

Stating that the global platform’s behavior towards Iran is unprecedented, he added: A few days ago Meta Company made an official statement that America has an army of fake accounts to influence public opinion in eight countries. One of those countries at the top of the story was Iran.

Muradkhani explained about the behavior of artists towards the government: All over the world, celebrities do political activism in the field of government. But most of the time in Iran, the situation is anti-governance. On the contrary, the government’s behavior with artists is debatable. We were very disappointed by the government’s lack of explanations about some issues. Ms. Hengame Ghaziani was arrested. Dear Mr. Govt, you must have had a reason for arresting you. But why don’t you say? When Homayun Shajarian’s passport was seized, everyone heard. Well, when you don’t tell your reason, another mental exchange is formed for people.

This radio presenter explained: When you don’t explain, naturally this soup becomes saltier. The relationship becomes dark. Many times, the officials look at the media like a vegetable on the table, whether it is good or not, there is nothing wrong with it. This is wrong.

He continued: In this day and age, all the damage we suffer is from the terrorist organization Iran International. That is, it has become so important and influential that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs divides this media in the category of terrorist organizations. This means that many of the films that were released could have been released earlier and could have had a serious impact on public opinion. But we lose the golden time, we lose the first narrative and then run to solve our passive approach. Many times it is not possible in the media.

*We are in the pre-stage of media literacy

In response to the question of one of the youth about being influenced by the statements of celebrities, this media expert said: We are in the pre-stage of media literacy. Mr. Parviz Perstavii constantly shared information that was later found to be untrue. It is enough for our young people to search on the Internet for expressions related to media literacy and fake news in foreign languages. Let’s put aside our domestic sources and see what foreigners say about fake news, fake news and information bombardment.

*Celebrities have an expiration date

Muradkhani stated that many times celebrities have an expiration date and reminded: You see, this celebrity was able to keep himself on the stock market for one or two years. But one day it will end. That person is deep and will remain in history to be real. Like the late Mr. Takhti. Another point is related to the concept of celebrity, which comes from America’s ecosystem and western lifestyle. It must be said that even western artists are gradually moving away from violent actions. For example, Ms. Anne Hathaway, who is a well-known Hollywood actress, says in a program that don’t listen to what we celebrities say. This is said by an Oscar-winning celebrity in Hollywood.
