The National Standard Organization announced in early June of this year that the Samand, Tiba and Tiba 2 vehicles were removed from the credit extension list by the metal industry specialized office of the National Standard Organization of Iran due to frequent safety defects.

After the announcement of this news by the National Standard Organization, the people who had already bought these cars through the car manufacturers’ sales plans have faced problems in numbering these cars, and in other words, their cars are not given license plates.

In this regard, Omid Qalibaf, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Security, in an interview with the economic reporter of Fars News Agency, in response to the question, what is the duty of the buyers of Tiba and Samand cars and will these cars finally be numbered or not? He said: According to the Ministry of Security’s follow-up from Saipa Company, this automobile company announced that 15 thousand Tiba cars have been invoiced for customers, but the National Standard Organization has stopped the numbering of these cars due to what it has stated as frequent defects.

He added: According to the announcement of this automobile company, there are also 15 thousand other Tiba cars in the production line.

Qalibaf stated: According to what Saipa Automobile Company announced after the National Standard Organization prevented the numbering of this car, a total of 30,000 Tiba cars remain undecided, of which 15,000 cars have been invoiced and sold to the public.

He added: A meeting was held between the officials of Saipa Automobile Company and the National Standard Organization on Wednesday last week to solve the numbering problems of 30,000 Tiba cars.

He also stated about Samand’s numbering: Iran Khodro Company has announced its total commitments regarding this car to be 4,000 units, and this company has also announced that the total commitments of this car are to taxi drivers.

Qalibaf said: 2,500 of these commitments have already been canceled to taxi companies, and negotiations have been conducted between taxi companies and the Standard Organization for 1,500 Samand vehicles.

It should be noted that before this, Fars reporter from Iran Khodro Company had followed up on the issue of Samand car numbering, which this car manufacturer informed Fars regarding the announcement of the National Standards Organization regarding the withdrawal of Samand car from the production circuit, the industrial group Iran Khodro has held meetings with the National Standard Organization regarding the implementation of these commitments in line with the implementation of its commitments to customers and organizations such as taxi companies.

The company also announced that the number of Samand commitments is limited and the cars are produced and ready to be handed over, which are mainly for urban transport fleet renewal. Currently, continuous follow-ups are being done to deliver Samand cars to customers as soon as possible.
