Nancy Pelosi: We are allied with Israel against Iran – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in occupied Palestine on Wednesday with a delegation of members of Congress and spoke of Washington’s strong support for the Zionist regime, Reuters reported.

“We are united in the fight against terrorism on the part of Iran, both at the regional level and on the progress of its nuclear program,” he said in a speech to members of parliament. Israel’s (geographical) proximity to Iran is a concern for all of us.

Pelosi also expressed hope that the US Senate would agree to increase the funding ceiling to strengthen the Iron Dome system as soon as possible. The US House of Representatives approved the plan in September 2021.

Pelosi’s visit to occupied Palestine comes as the Vienna talks have reached a critical juncture, and Iran has called on the West to show its willingness to reach a good agreement by lifting all sanctions as well as providing credible guarantees.

Also in an interview with the Financial Times, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the US Congress and the parliaments of the Western countries involved in the talks could, in a political statement, reaffirm their commitment to the agreement and return to full implementation.

On the other hand, Pelosi’s visit to Israel takes place at the height of tensions over developments in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem. He claimed that Washington was committed to a two-state solution aimed at increasing the stability and security of Israel, the Palestinians and their neighbors.

Pelosi is scheduled to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Thursday, but his itinerary so far does not include a visit to the Gaza Strip.
