Narration of three cinematographers about the hardships of making a film about Palestine

According to Fars news agency, the meeting of “Palestine in a silver frame” was held in the evening of December 1 at the Iran Cinema Museum with the presence of Jamal Shoorjeh, Manouchehr Mohammadi, Javad Ardakani and Saeed Esadi.

At the beginning of this meeting, Jamal Shoorja, director and producer of the cinema, said: “Currently, we are all concerned about Palestine because we are a single Muslim nation.” Now some of the Muslims have been caught by a fake and usurping regime that these people had started their cowardice since the time of the Prophet. At that time, they considered themselves superior to all humans, they expected all the monotheists to be subordinate to them and that no prophet would be from other than Bani Israel. The Israelis would give the whole world to themselves and think that the world should be under their control.

Stating that the Zionist regime usurped the Palestinian lands with the help of the United States, he said: Although Hitler was anti-Semitic, he was aligned with them and expelled the Jews from there and brought them to Asia. When you consider the Holocaust as the biggest lie in history, some people get upset, this cancerous tumor finally came to the land of Palestinians, and today, this festering tumor has sprouted again.

Referring to the imposed war between Iran and Iraq, the director of the movie “33 Days” said: The war was a hidden blessing that was imposed on us, and now we see the effects of this blessing because it made us make military progress.

He honored Saifullah and said: He made the best film centered on Palestine. Tonight, Manouchehr Mohammadi, the producer of “Resurgent” is present in our group and I always wanted to work with him. I remember a group from Algeria came and wanted to make a film with Iranian actors, and they called us for this, and I prayed for Manouchehr Mohammadi to be present as a producer because he knew the work, but the Algerian group did not know the production relations.

While paying his respects to Saifullah Dad again, Shurjeh said: “I am sure that the movie “Survivor” is the legacy of Saifullah Dad and is one of his successes in that world.

Stating that the main problem is that we don’t have a clear plan and policy, he said: “Unfortunately, we don’t have enough ideas about making a film about Palestine.” If I were in the place of the cultural directors, I would talk to Mr. Mohammadi and provide him with a budget to create a work on the Palestinian issue because he has a lot of experience in this field.

Shurje pointed out: We all remember that Imam Khomeini (RA) said that Palestine is our first issue, so why is this issue delayed today? We should have prepared 10 scripts about Palestine by now, but the “Zero Degree Orbit” series, which was made several years ago, is still broadcast. . In my opinion, young people should be together with experienced people and work in this field.

I’m not making “The Leftovers” anymore

In the continuation of this meeting, Manouchehr Mohammadi, the producer of the film “Bazamande”, also stated: I have a method both in filmmaking and in life, and it is against the flow of swimming. I express my pain towards the media environment of the country, which these days revolves around Gaza. Because when a topic comes up, an emotional atmosphere is created and societies develop. For example, there are many topics that are accepted in one period but in another period, there are “buts and ifs”, and I consider it normal, but the elites and experts must resolve some of these issues. Unfortunately, our media has an emotional atmosphere that is not right.

Referring to the formation of the Zionist regime, he explained: the most significant part of the Second World War was that a trend called Nazism was created in Germany, which claimed to be a superior race and wanted to conquer a large part of the world, but what was created during it was the story of the Holocaust. Was. Nazism had a fundamental view and its followers said that they were a superior race, this caused some Jews to look for a country. Following the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Allied Powers, some began a movement to define a New World Order to the extent that what you see today as the Middle East basically did not exist before.

This producer stated: Europe suffered a pang of conscience after the Holocaust, and this made them do something for the Jews, so they tried to gather the Jewish people, who were scattered all over the world, in one place. There was always a country called Palestine, and if the West really had benevolent intentions towards the Jews, couldn’t they find a country that consists of different religions and live together? So the creation of a country called Israel is questionable. The West was aware of a greater benefit, through which the Middle East would be divided, and on the other hand, they would get an issue called oil.

Mohammadi said: Ali Hatami’s Zinda Yad has a dialogue in one of his works that says, “Art is not cornfields.” The artist himself must be concerned. And I have to do something.

Referring to filmmaking in the Palestinian area, he said: Many friends have worked in the Palestinian area, but what made “The Leftover” last was that we did not do propaganda and this film was really cinema. I say frankly that if they give me a hundred million dollars now, I will not make a film about Palestine, because this is a betrayal of myself and Palestine, because I must first master the subject well. The issue of Palestine is so important that it should not be approached without thorough research and information.

Mohammadi continued: I have a very poetic scenario about Palestine because I think that the amount of tragedy in Palestine has caused the drama to no longer have the capacity to deal with this issue.

Cinema director Javad Ardakani also said: “We still haven’t reached a current called “Palestinian Cinema Current”, even regarding regional issues. We have only produced a series of films, which are not the result of written policy, but the result of people’s will, because we do not have a suitable structure for such an important matter.

The director of the movie “Canary” said: It is interesting to tell a memory; In the last months when the story of Daesh was taking place in Syria, Haj Qasim had a meeting with the cultural directors and said, “I am worried that we will lose geography and lose history.” Because we are weak in the media. If the concern of Haj Qasim is to be taken into consideration, basic work must be done in this field.
