Nasiryan: Acting has always been serious for me, unlike many colleagues who do not take their work seriously

According to Fars news agency, the intimate meeting of “Ali Nasiryan” with the members of the cinema museum audience club titled “One lifetime of memory, a close-up view” was held last Saturday evening, September 4, at the cinema museum’s Ferdous hall.
At the beginning of this meeting, Ali Nasirian said about his interest in playwriting: I did not come to the theater to write plays, but to act, and I was completely focused on acting. I believe that the essence of theater work is acting. Every art, including directing, producing, set and costume design, etc., has its place, but acting is different from all these arts because all these factors are summed up in acting.
He added: Sometimes it is thought that the actor is one of the factors that should be given to the director and the director should use him to express his work, while this is not the case. The actor himself is the author, creative artist, writer and writes the role with his performance and acting.
Nasirian continued: “If I wrote a few plays, they were only dark exercises that I wanted to have written for myself, and that’s why I performed all these works myself.” Later, these plays were published in the form of a book titled “The Spectator”, I printed this book at the insistence of my friends so that those interested in the history of playwriting can read it.
“Captain Khurshid” actor pointed out the importance of reading books on theater for those who are interested in this profession and said: “Jovan Ke Budesh was our ideal for the theater of the works of Abdul Hossein Noushin, he was an efficient and great teacher who translated, directed, rehearsed and provided music for the theater. brought up Noushin worked hard for the theater, but he did not reach the place he should have reached. I remember that in 1330, when I was a student in acting class, there was only one theater book in Iran, which belonged to Abdul Hossein Noushin.
Communication with people in acting was attractive to me
Nasirian noted: “Anyway, I wanted to learn theater, and communication at that time was not as extensive as it is now, and we didn’t have money to go abroad to learn this art better.” For this reason, we used to refer to the books of Noshin and Khairkhah in the field of theater.
Stating that acting has always been attractive to him, he noted: Since childhood, I used to listen to the ballads and preludes of Morteza Ahmadi, Ghanbari, Tazami, Jamshid Shibani, etc., which were broadcast on the radio, and I used to sing along with these ballads and perform at home. I used to do it and I was a regular customer of Noor and Mihan cinema and sometimes I went to Rex cinema. I loved acting and connecting with people in acting was attractive to me; It is still the same.
Nasirian also said about facing different roles and the variety of his games: The distinctions you see in the roles are natural, and if they are not, it is wrong and I always take the work seriously. In my opinion, theater does not have only one author because the next author is the director, who rewrites the text with his own writing and direction, and the third author is the actor, who writes with his work and performance.
He continued: An actor imagines a character in his mind and rewrites the play with his sensory and psychological capabilities. Of course, we should not forget that the other author is the spectator who rewrites the text in his mind when he watches the show.
Nasirian continued: Work has always been serious for me and I was always hard on myself; Unlike many actors who do not take their work seriously. In my opinion, acting is one of the most difficult jobs in the world because the actor is in a dangerous situation and must focus on a role with psychological and sociological characteristics. The difficulty of the work is that you have to create a role and visualize it on stage and pretend at the same time. All acting techniques are about how best to pretend to be believable in front of thousands of eyes looking at you and all this work requires awareness.
He explained: “I still sit in the first class when they offer me a new job and start reading, researching and practicing from the beginning.” Working with yourself is one of the most important things in acting. You should work and practice with yourself in private, reach some points and then present them in public. You should know that acting is not that simple.
The challenge of preserving and perpetuating sense in cinema
Nasirian also said about the voice of dubbers in movies: Ali Hatami believed that the dubber adds something to the work with his expression, but I do not agree with him; I believe that everywhere in the world they use the actor’s own voice for dubbing because that actor himself has played the role and is more familiar with the nuances of the work.
The actor of the “Thousand Hands” series said about the role of the award in the life of an actor: The award does not have a serious place and effectiveness for a person like me, of course I am happy to receive it, but it is not very effective. When we started the theater, we didn’t think about the name and fame and receiving awards, I don’t know what attraction the art of acting had for us that we didn’t think about these things. I do not suggest that you should be like this because times have changed. It is important to take our work seriously. Acting is a creative and difficult work that requires effort and of course pleasure; The first person who enjoys work is yourself, and this is a lasting pleasure.
He said about the difference between acting in theater and cinema: the foundation of work in cinema and theater is the same, but in the field of action and performance, the work of each is different. One has a stage and an audience, and in the other, there is a distance between the audience and the stage by the camera and lenses. In the theater, with this mentality, you should pretend to be a live audience with you, and you should be able to convey those inner feelings in the way you present your feelings. Maintaining and perpetuating the feeling in the cinema is one of the challenges faced by the actor.
He also said about his appearance in the movie “Star Khan” directed by Ali Hatami: Ali Hatami suggested the script of Star Khan and I told him that I am not interested in acting in an action and war movie and Hatami said that my film is not action. Working with Ali Hatami was always desirable for me, but I think this film did not attract people’s attention as it should have.
Dariush Maudebian, director and playwright, also said in a part of this meeting: My friendship with Mr. Nasirian goes back more than 60 years. I was familiar with his works in theater, television and programs of the Department of Dramatic Arts. One of the schools through which I learned theater was the programs that were held in 1339 under the direction of Ali Nasiryan, and I was a spectator of these courses and saw him there for the first time. He was always on time for work, and they still are. I was 14 years old at that time and this encounter was very productive to the extent that I found my way since then and this friendship is very valuable to me.
I gave my life for the theater
Nasirian further said: What has preserved us until today is our language and culture. Thousands of years ago, Ferdowsi wrote a poem that we still read, and this is art; Keeper and preserver. Whatever happens, the art and culture of this country will connect and preserve us. I took my first theater class in 29 and devoted my life to theater and did nothing else but acting, theater and cinema. That’s what art is; If someone enters the field of art, it is not about two or more years, but about a lifetime.
Referring to his collaboration with Dariush Mehrjooi in the movie “Cow”, he said: “Mehrjoi directed my game and usually the first thing that fascinates me is the text of the show, the director’s look and knowledge, and in the case of the movie “Cow”, all these features were present. . Mehrjooi and Saedi wrote the script of “Cow” together, and when I saw it, I realized that Mehrjooi is a different person and I fell in love with him.
Nasirian recalled: Another director I fell in love with was Nasser Taqvai; He had a special look and obsession in cinema. When he offered me the role of Mr. Farhan in “Captain of the Sun” because he himself had lived in the south, he guided me well. Good directors give only one clue to the actor and Taqwai was like that. To guide the role of Mr. Farhan, he told me only one sentence; “It’s a broker with a gold tooth” and I looked for the role and found it.
Masoud Jafari Jozani gives the actor an idea
He also mentioned his cooperation with other directors and said: Homayoun Ghanizadeh sent me the script of “Jester” and from the text he gave me for the film, I understood that he is an innovative and creative person. Also, Masoud Jafarijozani, who is one of the famous cinema directors who studied cinema in America. When he gave me the script of “Cold Roads”, I understood that he is in the right place in his work because his look and the words he says give ideas to the actor, and piety and Mehrjoui, with their brilliant records, are like this.
In the end, Nasiryan addressed the youth and said: The present and future of theater art is in the hands of you, the youth. don’t forget For the work of art, it does not mean to belittle; If you have a goal, you must pursue it. If you fail, if they don’t let you and you can’t work, don’t ever despair. Creativity is like water that seeps, flows and finds its way. If the essence of creativity is in you, work and if you have love and interest, don’t cut corners. Do not be afraid of failure. Work and reveal your creativity.
