According to Mehr News Agency, the US Treasury Department added new names to its sanctions list on Thursday under the pretext of Iran.

The US Treasury Department’s Office of Assets Control (OFAC) has announced that it has imposed sanctions against Iran linked to Lebanon’s Hezbollah and the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

According to the website of the US Treasury Department, the new US sanctions target the oil, transportation and shipping sectors.

In this statement, the US Treasury claimed, without providing any documents, that it has included the members of an international network that generates income for Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force with oil trade in its sanctions list. .

These sanctions include 6 individuals, 17 companies and 11 ships. Those sanctioned have Iranian, Swiss, Lebanese and French citizenships.

Also, 17 companies that were included in the US sanctions list are located in the UAE, Switzerland, Marshall Islands, Singapore and Turkey. The embargoed ships are also under the flag of Panama, Djibouti and Liberia.

US Deputy Treasury Secretary Brian Nelson repeated baseless claims and accusations against Iran and claimed that the members of this network bypassed sanctions by establishing fake companies and falsifying documents and sent Iranian oil to international markets. !
