New details of the RTX 4090 graphics card

According to a new rumor published on the Chiphell forum, the RTX 4090 graphics card will be released in two versions, 450 and 600 watts. Also, it is said that the price of this model will be lower compared to RTX 3090 Ti. This model appears to be the only member of the RTX 40 series to be available this year, with other versions likely to hit the market in the first quarter of 2023. Stay with Lion Tech.
There are a lot of rumors surrounding the RTX 40 series at the moment, but we recently heard a separate report of an RTX 4090 graphics card, which matches the information posted on the Chiphell forum. Accordingly, two RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 graphics cards are expected to be released on the market a little later.
The RTX 4090 graphics card will be cheaper than the RTX 3090 Ti
One of the reasons for this delay can be related to the remaining inventory of Nvidia’s RTX 30 series in warehouses, in fact, the green team is trying to empty its warehouse before the release of RTX 40 and then move on to the release of its new graphics card. Even the green team announced in the news that due to the release of the new series, it will reduce the price of the models based on the ampere architecture. For example, the price of the RTX 3080 Ti graphics card has been reduced from $1,200 to $800 at some retailers.
But, the more interesting part of this news is related to the thermal power of Nvidia’s new flagship graphics card. According to this report, RTX 4090 will be released in two types of 450 and 600 watts. The reference model is likely to be available with a heat output of 450 watts, but manufacturers of customized versions can increase this amount to 600 watts.
Finally, we come to the most important part of this rumor; A Chiphell forum member stated that the RTX 4090 will be priced lower than the RTX 3090 Ti at launch. Currently, the RTX 3090 Ti card retails for $1,999 and the RTX 3090 model retails for $1,499. However, the mentioned information is at the level of rumors for now and it remains to be seen what Nvidia will do in practice? If all goes well, the green team will probably launch the RTX 4090 in the $1,500 range.
Technical specifications of RTX 4090
Currently, a lot of information has been published about the technical specifications of the RTX 4090 graphics card. The card is based on the Ada Lovelace GPU, developed on TSMC’s 4nm manufacturing technology, and has a total of 16,384 CUDA cores and 96MB of L2 cache. The frequency of this model has not yet been officially confirmed, but it was previously said that the increased frequency of RTX 4090 will be in the range of 3 GHz.
The number of cores used in this card has increased by about 56% compared to RTX 3090, which makes us see a significant performance jump of RTX 4090 compared to the previous generation. Also, this card has 24GB of GDDR6X RAM. The memory speed of Nvidia’s new flagship card has now reached 21 Gbps and is equipped with a 384-bit interface bus. All these things make the new card of the green team able to reach the bandwidth of this card now to 1 terabytes per second.
The RTX 4090 graphics card is expected to hit the market in October, with other models expected to be introduced and then available in the first quarter of 2023. At the end, you can compare the technical specifications of all RTX 4090 and 4090 Ti graphics cards compared to the flagships of the previous generation:
