New generation Surface Laptop Studio 2 spotted on Geekbench – equipped with RTX 4060

Recently, Microsoft’s Surface Laptop Studio 2 new generation laptop has been seen on the Geekbench database along with its specifications, and as it seems, this laptop can be a great option in its class. This laptop is going to be equipped with a GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card in the most powerful version, and with this account, it will be the most powerful laptop of the Surface family that Microsoft has released so far.
Specifications of Surface Laptop Studio 2
The Surface Laptop Studio 2 is going to be equipped with Intel’s 13th generation Raptor Lake-H processors, and the model seen on the Geekbench database is equipped with a Core i7 13800H processor. This processor has 6 P cores and 8 E cores, and is a 14-core, 20-thread processor. Unfortunately, the Geekbench database has not published any information about the maximum power consumption of this processor, but in general, just because a powerful processor is placed in a small chassis does not mean that the system must be able to cool the powerful processor.
Other specifications of the Surface Laptop Studio 2 include a GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and up to 64 GB of DDR5 RAM. With these technical specifications, this laptop can be used not only for content production, but also for AAA gaming and can run new games in High settings without any problems. Of course, the screen resolution of this laptop is still unknown and the frame rate that this laptop can deliver depends on its screen resolution.
Graphics performance at the limit of RTX 3060
Unfortunately, the maximum consumption of the graphics card is not included in Geekbench and therefore, we cannot predict its performance in other tests. But since the graphics card of this laptop was able to score 81285 in the OpenCL test, its performance is close to RTX 3060 models with higher thermal power. Of course, we still can’t draw a specific conclusion because the behavior of the RTX 4060 graphics card is different from the RTX 3060.
Compared to the previous generation of Surface Laptop Studio, the specifications of the new generation have been significantly improved. The previous generation of this laptop was equipped with an 8-core Core i7 11370H processor and an RTX 3050 Ti 4GB graphics card in the highest model. One of the problems of the previous generation of this laptop was the occurrence of a thermal bottleneck during heavy processing; Now we have to wait and see if Microsoft has been able to fix this problem in the new generation of this laptop or not.
