New information from Intel Arc Alchemist laptop graphics – five different examples


A slide has been revealed that shows new information about Intel Arc Alchemist laptop graphics and more precisely their video memory configuration. This slide by HXL Shared on Twitter.

The slide title is called DG2 graphics memory configuration and includes up to five different models. The table also contains the DG2 NB SKU, which confirms the line-up of Arc Alchemist notebook samples.

According to this table, the flagship model or SKU1 with 512 executable units uses eight GDDR6 modules to provide a volume of 16 GB. This memory will work at a clock of 16 Gbps similar to the graphics of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti laptop. Also, due to the presence of a 256-bit bus, we will see 512 GB of bandwidth.

In addition, we can finally confirm that the reduced version of the DG2 512EU chip with 384 operating units is currently called SKU2. This model uses 12 GB of GDDR6 memory and 192-bit bus. The memory speed is similar to the flagship model and the maximum bandwidth will be 384 GB / s.

The SKU3 has 256 executables with 8GB of GDDR6 memory as well as a 128-bit bus. At the same time, the clock is maintained at 16 Gbps, but only half of the flagship model modules will be used. This means that the bandwidth will be reduced to 256 GB.

Finally, the SKU4 and SKU5 are based on the 128EU DG2 chip, which both have 4GB of memory and 64-bit bus. The memory clock here has been reduced to 14 Gbps and the bandwidth is 112 Gbps.

Finally, this slide confirms what the DG2 512EU scaled-down models are. The same graphics will probably be available on the desktop platform, and it would be weird if that did not happen. At the same time, there is no example of 448 executive units, and therefore we see a gap between the flagship model and 384 executive units. However, we can expect 448EU in the desktop series.
