New news for Tehran tenants / Who will own a house?

According to Tejarat News, the plan that the MPs were looking for entered the government’s plans. Last year, members of the parliament’s civil commission tried to get the housing production leap approved, which they did.
This year, with the start of the presidential candidates’ campaign, Ibrahim Ra’isi emphasized the position of the parliament and promised to build four million housing units in the next four years, ie one million units every year.
This plan has become serious in the government and the registration of applicants is scheduled to begin in the third week of October.
Price per meter of housing
Ismail Hossein Zehi, a member of parliament, said that the price per square meter of housing in the housing leap plan is about 2 million and 750 thousand tomans. That is one tenth of the current average housing price in Tehran.
Who are the beneficiaries?
In government projects, one of the target groups is people covered by support institutions such as the Relief and Welfare Committee, who can certainly apply in this project as well.
Regarding the next groups, the Deputy Minister of Roads said: “Four conditions have been considered for being included in this plan.” These four conditions are as follows:
- People who are homeless.
- People who have not used government housing facilities.
- Applicants must have lived in the city of their choice for 5 years.
- Marriage is the fourth main condition for those involved.
In what areas are these houses built?
According to the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and the CEO of the New Cities Development Company, there are several capacities to implement the housing production leap plan:
- Internal capacity of cities, including dilapidated, suburban and barren lands with residential use within cities
- Development of new cities with no population restrictions. (There are cities with a population capacity of over 500,000)
- Construction of new settlements
55,000 Tehran tenants in two new towns
According to Habibollah Taherkhani, so far, the New Cities Development Company has started expert studies on the construction of 40 new residential towns in 14 provinces, with a capacity of 132,200 housing units.
Of these, 3 towns are located in the metropolitan area of the capital, namely the provinces of Tehran and Alborz. 2 towns with an area of 1,438 hectares and a construction capacity of 16,670 residential units and a population of 55,000 in Tehran province are on the agenda.
