New official details of “Leila Brothers”
The Cannes Film Festival website published information about the films in the 75th edition of this cinematic event.
Theater News Base: Saeed Roustaie’s “Leila Brothers” is one of the 21 films competing in this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which will compete for the Palme d’Or for Best Picture and other awards in the International Competition category.
The summary of the story published from the movie “Leila Brothers” reads:
At the age of 40, Leila has spent her entire life caring for her parents and four brothers. In a country embroiled in international economic sanctions, families are constantly arguing and dealing with small debts. While her brothers are trying to make a living, Leila plots to save them from poverty by starting a family business.
While they desperately need financial support, Leila finds out that their father Ismail has secretly hidden a family inheritance. He has kept this legacy as a proposal to become the new patriarch of the tribe, the highest honor in the Iranian tradition.
This causes chaos in a family that was already fragile. As the father’s health deteriorates, the actions of each member of the family gradually bring the family one step closer to an explosion.
Made in the village for two hours and forty-five minutes, which is one of the longest films of this year at the Cannes Film Festival, on May 26 (June 5) at 14:15 in Anis Varda Hall, May 27 (June 6) at 17:30 in Aura Hall and On May 28 (June 7) from 15:00, it will experience its fifth and last show in the IMAX hall of the festival.
Taraneh Alidosti, Navid Mohammadzadeh, Saeed Poursamimi, Farhad Aslani, Peyman Maadi, Mohammad Alimohammadi, Nayreh Mohammadi and Mehdi Hosseininia are the actors in this film and the French company “Wild Bunch” is in charge of the international part of this film.
Hooman Behmanesh is in charge of filming the new rural film and Bahram Dehghani is the editor of this film. The music of the film is made by Peyman Yazdanian and Iraj Shahzadi and Rashid Daneshmand as sound engineer and Mohsen Nasrollahi as stage designer have collaborated with this project.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 17 to 28 (May 17 to June 27) and Asghar Farhadi is one of the judges of the main competition.
