According to Mehr news agency, the US Treasury announced in a statement that it has imposed new sanctions against Iran’s oil and petrochemical industry.

This statement was published on the website of the US Treasury Department; As claimed in this statement, 9 companies that are included in the list of US sanctions against Iran are active in the production, sale and shipment of Iranian petrochemicals and oil.

The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has targeted six petrochemical producers based in Iran or their subsidiaries and three companies in Malaysia and Singapore. According to the statement of the US Treasury Department, these companies, on behalf of Triliance Petrochemical Company, participate in facilitating the sale and shipment of Iranian petroleum products and petroleum products by the National Iranian Oil Company.

“Brian E. Nelson, US Treasury’s Deputy Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, claims in this statement that Iran has increasingly turned to selling its petrochemical and oil products to East Asian buyers, in violation of US sanctions. The United States remains focused on targeting Tehran’s sources of illicit revenue and continues to impose sanctions on those who knowingly help facilitate this trade.

Amir Kabir Petrochemical Company, Simorgh Petrochemical Company, Laleh Petrochemical Company, Maron Tadbir Tina Company, Maron Sepehr Ofoq Company and Maron Complementary Industries Company are among the companies that are included in the list of new US sanctions against Iran.
