Nigeria’s $3 billion program for dual-burning cars with the help of Iranian companies

In an interview with the economic reporter of Fars news agency, Abolfazl Mobini, referring to the capacity of Nigeria to export technical and engineering services for dual-fuel cars, said: Nigeria is a country that has a lot of gas and oil. It exports about 22 million tons of LNG annually and uses the services and engineering of companies such as Shell in the field of LNG technology. The price of diesel in Nigeria is $1.6 per liter, which is a good economic justification for consumers to switch from diesel to CNG and LNG.

* The Nigerian government is looking to dual-fuel a million gasoline cars

He added: Car importing companies in Nigeria have also come to the conclusion that they should move towards LNG and CNG vehicles. But one of their biggest problems is the lack of a nationwide gas network in Nigeria, which requires the experience and knowledge of our beloved country to implement this issue in Nigeria.

Mobini said: In addition to that, they need our experience in the issue of workshop conversion, and of course, in the issue of mother and daughter model in the development of CNG, they also need Iran’s initiatives and knowledge. According to the Nigerian government, if one million cars with CNG fuel enter the country’s market, it will remove the gasoline subsidy and bring the price of gasoline closer to one dollar.

* An Iranian company succeeded in obtaining the dual fuel project of Nigerian cars

The senior expert in the field of CNG continued: One of the domestic knowledge-based companies, by relying on its young and elite domestic specialists, by forming a consortium consisting of all those involved in the CNG industry in Iran, has been able to enter the implementation phase of this huge project in Nigeria.

He said: Of course, this issue in Syria is from its study phase to the implementation phase, and we hope that the relevant authorities, with their efforts and support of this consortium, will lay the groundwork for the advancement of this project and the export of technical and engineering services for the CNG industry. to other countries.

* Proposing the development of CNG in diesel cars in Iran

Mobini explained: Currently, we have a God-given gift called gas and a nationwide gas network, which is the result of 40 years of round-the-clock efforts of local experts. Now why should we ignore this divine gift and great achievement or settle for the minimum? We can build micro LNG anywhere in the country where it is needed. Today, some officials proudly announce the import of electric buses to the country. If each electric bus costs about 600 thousand dollars, of which about 400 thousand dollars is for the bus battery, which we have to replace every 5 years, then why not use a gas-powered bus? There is both its internal technology and the knowledge and skills of its construction, maintenance and maintenance. On the other hand, the life of each bus reaches from 5 years to 20 years, and its production cost is much lower, and the wheel of the country’s economy moves.

* Nigeria’s $3 billion plan to make cars dual fuel

Mbini said: Today, Nigeria is ready to spend 3 billion dollars to develop its CNG industry. This choice of Nigeria is due to the fact that this contract will benefit this country at least 2 billion dollars annually.

The senior expert in the field of CNG emphasized: As we also observed in our own country and had a concrete experience, the return on investment occurred within 6 months by converting gasoline-powered cars to gas-powered workshops. That is, the government was able to make a return on investment in 6 months in 1998 with the small investment it made in the field of workshop conversion.

He said: Currently, our country uses only 23 million cubic meters of CNG with 5 million dual-fuel vehicles, which has reduced the share of gasoline in the fuel basket and prevented the import of gasoline. Now it is enough to implement the same issue for heavy vehicles. We will see that we can be successful in the issue of diesel as well.
