HMD Global today unveiled a new budget phone with a focus on repairability and durability. This device, called the Nokia G22, unlike most phones today, is easily repairable and you can, for example, replace the screen in 20 minutes.

Nokia G22 is designed in such a way that the user can use it for a long time. According to reports from research companies, broken screens and damaged batteries are among the most important reasons for replacing smartphones, so HMD Global has focused on repairability in its latest budget phone.

Changing the battery in the Nokia G22 takes only 5 minutes and you only need a SIM card ejector, a screwdriver and a guitar pick. Changing the screen will take you 20 minutes and of course you will need more tools.

To make things faster, HMD Global has partnered with iFixit to provide users with tools, instructions, and replacement parts such as the display, battery, and charging port. If you are not interested in replacing these parts yourself, you can go to the dealer.

By eliminating the need for heat to remove the back panel and alcohol to remove the battery, Nokia has made great strides in the repairability of its latest budget phone. Also, for the sustainability of this product, its back panel is completely made with 100% recycled plastic.

Nokia G22 is equipped with a 6.52-inch screen with HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate and has an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The power of this product is provided by the Unisoc T606 chip, which is accompanied by 4 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal memory. The device runs Android 12 by default, but supports up to Android 14.

Other specifications include a triple camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Nokia G22 battery is 5050 mAh with 20W charging support. This device is sold in blue and gray colors and with a basic price of 179 euros.
