The director of the show “Gymnastics of Pieces”, which was staged at Molvi Theater Center these days, believes that art has not been shut down by artists anywhere in the world.
Charso Press: Meitham Mozafari, the author and director of the show “Gymnastics of Pieces”, which is currently on stage in the main hall of Molvi Theater Center, said about this play: This work is based on the life and works of Samuel Beckett in 3 episodes, and the theme of Beckett in All three episodes of the show are preserved but freely adapted. “Gymnastics of Fragments” is considered an absurd work.
He recalled: About a year ago, after reading a book about Beckett, the main idea of this show came to my mind, and writing the text took about 4 months to reach the final version. After that, we started rehearsing the show this year, but due to the situation in the society, the rehearsals were closed, and this closure coincided with my acceptance into the direction program of Tarbiat Modares University. After this acceptance and continued rehearsals, work was offered to Molvi Theater Center for performance through the university.
Mozaffari emphasized about the production and performance of theater in the current economic and social conditions: Fortunately, Molvi Hall has its audience because it is a student base with low ticket prices, but the existing negative trend about whether or not to perform theater had an effect on the conditions of theater production. . We get annoyed because we don’t find a reason for this. Some theater children living in the city have come to Tehran to work and be seen, but before this situation coronavirus And then the existing negative atmosphere has made the situation difficult. I don’t like to say this, but the existing negative atmosphere is a kind of genocide of young people who want to introduce themselves and work.
This young theater director stated: Nowhere in the world has the theater and art in general been shut down by the artist. Art cannot be shut down and we have to put people to work.
Referring to the current unfavorable conditions of virtual theater advertising, he said: In this situation, we have moved towards physical advertising, such as installing posters and distributing brochures, which are no longer common in the world of theater.
At the end of his speech, Mozaffari stated that “Gymnastics of Pieces” will be on stage until 30th of Bahman and due to the reception it received, there is a possibility of extending the performance, and said: I have to sincerely thank the friends of Molavi Theater Center for supporting the students. .
