NUC Alder County laptop kit approved – with separate Intel ARC graphics

During CES 2022 the NUC Alder County Laptop Kit utilizes distinct ARC graphics by Intel Confirmed. This code name, of course, is not well known and is the only reference it mentions Inpact Hardware Is. The website claims that Alder County is the successor to King County, another Intel reference laptop kit (NUC X15).

Alder County, as the name implies, is equipped with Alder Lake P processors as well as ARC graphics. In other words, we are witnessing the first reference design for a gaming laptop with the company’s own hardware. In any case, this is the first time that the blue team has confirmed the code name.

If you’ve never heard of NUC laptop kits, this is an Intel reference design that is sometimes used by partners. For example, the NUC X15 is used by ADATA XPG Xenia gaming laptops. Below you will find King County images based on the Tiger Lake processor (up to the Core i7 11800H chip).

In addition, we also have the approval of Serpent Canyon. You may remember the NUC 12 Enthusiast revelation last August. This device is a small gaming PC with a next generation Intel processor. In the upper right corner (bottom image) is the word Serpen, which is the same as Serpent Canyon. The same name was used by Intel during CES 2022.

Details of Serpent Canyon

The company has confirmed that the new device has the next generation of ARC graphics. Other specifications include 8, 12 and 16 GB of video memory. In addition, ARC graphics also support Display Port 2.0.
