According to the Fars news agency reporter in Astana, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Ismailov met with his Azeri counterpart Ali Asadaf in Baku and discussed bilateral issues during his visit to Azerbaijan.

In this meeting, the senior officials of the two countries emphasized on increasing bilateral and regional cooperation and signed documents that will strengthen cooperation in the field of transportation and logistics in the field of digitization.

One of the most important documents of the agreement is the creation of a single logistics company for the further development of the Trans-Caspian international transit route.

This document was signed by the representatives of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, and it is expected that in the near future the agreement will be signed by the other participating party, Georgia.

The main task of this company will be to transport cargo between China and Europe. Maximum simplification of all processes.

In the past, the delivery time of goods from China to Europe was 53 days, but today it has decreased to 18-23 days. The activities of the new company this year will reduce the delivery time to 18 guaranteed days and then to 10 to 15 days.

For the implementation of this project, it is planned to attract large international investors. A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Industry of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan in the field of expanding transport interaction and digitalization of the “Middle Corridor”.

The negotiations between the authorities of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan for the implementation of the Trans-Caspian Corridor are taking place while there is no necessary infrastructure for the transit of goods and energy in this region in order to turn this route into a strong transit route in the near future.
