Oman: The solution to the crisis in Yemen is the formation of an inclusive national government


According to the report of Fars International News Agency, “Badr Albusaidi”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, said that his country’s view on ending the conflicts in Yemen is to form an inclusive government with the participation of all Yemeni brothers.

In an interview with the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, he stated that peace in Yemen is a strategic decision that Yemenis take and it cannot be imposed from outside.

He added that the proposal of Hans Grundberg, the UN envoy in Yemen, is good and we generally approve it.

Oman’s foreign minister also said about his country’s role: “Our role and that of the international community is to support all Yemeni parties, and they are the ones who make tough and courageous decisions.”

Al-Busaidi pointed out the importance of diplomacy in ending conflicts and said: “If the goal of diplomacy is to find peaceful solutions, then the most important peaceful solution is dialogue, and we must adhere to it to achieve understanding.”

He also said that Oman strives for the continuation of peace and believes in the policy of good neighborliness.

Oman’s foreign minister also pointed out that the human suffering in Yemen is very high and the damages are heavy, and urged all parties to provide the necessary concessions in order to achieve peace and secure Yemen’s best interests.

Oman played a key role in achieving a ceasefire under the supervision of the United Nations in Yemen.
