Oman’s Foreign Minister: The agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia will be the basis for strengthening the cooperation of regional countries

According to the Foreign Policy Group of Fars News Agency, Ali Bagheri, Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who traveled to Muscat today (Sunday) 21 March, met and talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman, Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi.
In this meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral and regional issues.
The subject of the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia and regional dialogues in order to strengthen peace and security in the region were among the topics raised in this meeting.
The Foreign Minister of Oman welcomed the recent agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia to re-establish diplomatic relations between the two countries and stated: This agreement will be the basis for strengthening the spirit of cooperation and interaction between the countries of the region.
Praising the constructive role of the Sultanate of Oman in this regard, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated: The agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to start a new period of relations showed that the neighborhood policy is a smart strategy of the government to secure national interests and advance foreign policy goals.
Bagheri added: The key to the success of Iran’s neighborhood policy is mutual political trust and the goal of this strategic policy is to establish stability and peace in the region and promote economic cooperation to promote development in all countries and comprehensive prosperity for all nations of the region.
This trip was made with the aim of holding the ninth round of political consultations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Sultanate of Oman in Muscat.
