In an interview with Mehr reporter, Abbas Ali Mirhosseini said about the final options for leading the national volleyball team that were announced after the end of the technical committee meeting: Volleyball needs a coach who is strong in management and up-to-date in coaching work. A coach who has a good relationship with the World Volleyball Federation and can solve many issues. In the opinion of the friends who are in the technical committee, they should put aside compliments and express their opinions more easily.
He emphasized: Maaroub can be called the volleyball player of the century, he was wonderful. But there is a fact that he does not have the necessary experience as a coach and has not even been an assistant coach. Of course, he was a great player and understood volleyball well, but he has no coaching experience.
Mir Hosseini said: The national volleyball team is not in a good condition, and with this situation, they are going to lead the national team to fame. By entrusting this great responsibility, the future of the famous will be ruined unintentionally. I think Maruf is very smart and makes a good decision. We should not burn the famous. He is the volleyball player of Iran’s century, and in the last hundred years, no volleyball player has come to him. He can become a good coach in the future if he goes through his steps.
The volleyball expert stated: I think only the coach can untie this knot who has a high influence in the World Volleyball Federation. With good communication, consider good friendly games for the national team. Someone should lead the national team who is not involved in club work. I have said many times that club work and national work are two completely different atmospheres. Atai was a successful coach in a club, but he did not get an answer in the national team. Our volleyball needs a coach who has worked in big teams and experienced difficult conditions. The coach of the national team and the club are very different from each other.
Mir Hosseini said: In my opinion, even Peyman Akbari should not lead the national team in this critical situation. The foreign coach puts forward his demands without compliments. Iranian coaches are praiseworthy, but in the current situation, it is not right for them to lead the national team, because with this choice, the Iranian coach will lose everything he has and no team will be entrusted to them anymore. In my opinion, good decisions were not made in the meeting of the technical committee. Everyone is welcome to express their opinion. While national interests are more important than anything else.
