According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Variety, Song Kangho, who has acted in films such as “Murder Memoirs” and “Parasite” or “Parasite”, plays the role of “Uncle Sam Shik” in an independent drama series.
This series, which is the first acting experience for this actor, is about two men in 1960s Korea who are known for their pride, greed and affection. It has not yet been said which actor will play the main role of the film.
This series is directed by Shin Yeon-shik. Song has recently collaborated with him on the feature films “One Bird” and “Quob”, but neither has been released yet.
The series will be produced in 10 episodes and the news of its production was announced on the eve of the World Broadcasting Conference in Seoul, which is the country’s main showcase for the introduction of Korean TV programs, and which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday.
Song Kang-ho was present at the Cannes Film Festival this year with the film “The Broker” and received the Palme d’Or for Best Actor for this film directed by Koreida Hirokazu. He has had a significant presence in this industry since the beginning of the modern period of cinema in Korea, and his first important role was “The Day the Pig Fell in the Well” directed by Hong Sang-soo. “Joint Security Zone”, “Host”, “Snowplow” and “Taxi Driver” are his other films.
