Parliament to reconsider artists’ tax exemptions


According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, Amir Sayyah criticized the parliament’s decision on the exemption of artists’ income tax on his personal page in cyberspace.

“By cutting off ownerless noses, peddlers will soon have to pay income tax. According to the 1401 budget, artists will soon be exempt from income tax. It is not fair for the parliament to reconsider,” he wrote.

According to Fars, based on the decision of the Artists’ Assembly, 260 million Tomans per year were exempt from tax.

According to this section, the tax exemption for activities related to tuition publications is eliminated and the tax exemption for actors, performing the stage (concert) and producing, publishing and reproducing and distributing musical works, auction of works of art subject to paragraph (l) of Article (139) of the Tax Law Direct is applicable only up to a limit of two billion and 600 million rials per year, and after that, it is subject to tax at the rate of the law of direct taxes, as the case may be.
