Paying card reader fees from people’s pockets

Collecting fees from businesses that have card readers is wrong and I wish this approach was not on the agenda at all and the government should stop it.
From Sunday of this week and with the circular of the central bank, all people and businesses that have card reader devices, except for the two guilds of bakeries and supermarkets, must pay a fee; An issue that will definitely lead to challenges in unfavorable economic conditions, both for the business and as a result for the people.
A tremendous economic pressure has been imposed on the people
In this regard, Ali Rezaei, a member of the Economic Commission of the Majlis, said: In the last few years, especially the last one, two years and now, a lot of economic pressure has been imposed on the people, and the time for some things is not now. including receiving fees from the owners of card reader devices. When there is an economic war and people’s lives are struggling with many problems in the economic field, the government should increase its support to people and businesses rather than issuing directives that cause public dissatisfaction.
Kangavar’s representative clarified in the parliament: When a business owner is supposed to pay a fee for the card reader he has, don’t doubt that the thought of reimbursing the cost will come to his mind, which is natural, and ultimately this pressure will be applied to the consumer, and this means an increase in inflation. That too, in a situation where people no longer have the ability to resist inflation.
Back to the culture of hand-to-hand cash!
Rezaei stated: For several years, the culture of handing over cash had decreased and this is a happy event in the direction of making things electronic. Now, despite this circular of the central bank, we will definitely go back and businesses and people will be interested in going to cash to avoid the imposition of fees. It is interesting that the whole world is looking to expand e-government and improve technology, but we are making the traditional processes to be on the agenda again.
He reminded: If this trend continues, the culture of lying will increase, and then many people who do not have cash will often be faced with statements such as we do not have a card reader or it is broken.
Most of the businesses cannot pay the government tax
In this regard, another member of the Economic Commission of the Parliament, Fatah Tavasli, also said: What is certain is that both last year and this year, the amount of taxes collected from the people has increased, despite the fact that The general economic situation of the country is not in such a way that most of our businesses can provide this tax intended by the government.
He added: On the other hand, in order for the country’s wheels to turn, the government must provide a part of its resources from taxes, with this said, the government decision-makers must move forward in such a way that the least pressure is placed on the business and the people. Since this matter has caused concern to many people, I will personally follow up the matter with the Minister of Economy.
