Paying tribute to the mothers of the martyrs in “Rukh Madar”/ Be the narrator of unheard stories – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

Zahra Hosseini, head of research and subject identification of the documentary series “Mother’s Face”, the second season of which is currently being broadcast on Ik Sima channel, pointing out that she was introduced to the program producer by one of the project consultants and was added to the group since February of last year. Est, told Mehr reporter: With the start of the pre-production of the second season in March of last year, the search for subjects started at the same time in different provinces.
He continued: In the meantime, we tried to communicate with the relevant institutions to reach the subjects, but due to the lack of cooperation in some provinces, we had to act in the field, and this issue doubled the difficulty of our work, especially since The important factors of choosing the subjects in the second season, in addition to having a different story, was emphasizing their rural geographical location.
The head of research and subject identification of the documentary series “Rukh Mader” pointed out that the view of the creators from the first day to the 26 episodes of the program was a national view, and stated: In the 8 years of the imposed war, fighters from all over Iran were present on the fronts, this issue The requirement to pay attention to the problem of their geographic location was doubled. I personally believe that there has been a lack of attention to the stories of martyred mothers in the city and villages. In the second season of “Mother’s Face”, we tried to go to the martyred mothers of the city and villages of the country and try to represent this category with maximum effort.
150 mothers of martyrs from all over the country are the primary subjects of the program
Hosseini added: Subjects were introduced to us in various ways, including by researchers, and after the initial interview with them, I personally went to them to get a comprehensive explanation of their life history. The statistical population of our subjects was more than 150 mothers of martyrs from all over the country, and finally, with the consultation of the production group, we reached these 26 subjects. The existence of a different story and a distinct history, geographical location and native perspective, and the physical and mental state of mothers were among the main criteria for choosing our subjects.
He continued by emphasizing that research is the foundation, basis and prerequisite of a good screenplay, and said: A good research can raise the produced work to the highest level. In other words, a work has been produced as a soul on a body. The more rigorous we are in writing a good research, the work of high artistic value will be produced. Documentary is tied to the truth of a matter and it is precisely here that the value of a research is determined.
The head of research and subject selection of the “Rukh Madar” documentary series said about the challenges he faced along the way: One of the main challenges was the subject selection and production outside the capital. Visually, this gave us beautiful frames and postcards, but finding subjects and accessing and communicating with them was accompanied by difficulties. In some provinces, a good interaction with our researchers was not formed by the relevant institutions, and we were forced to conduct field research ourselves. Field research without the presence of a local companion in areas that spoke their own native dialects would have presented us with challenges and slowed down the work process.
Hosseini said about the interaction with the producer and directors of this documentary series: I was given the opportunity to get to know people whose work is commitment and responsibility towards the task they have undertaken, and this acquaintance gives me pleasure. After selecting the subjects, in a meeting attended by the producer and director of that episode, the subjects were given a final evaluation and a decision was made about their production by examining the conditions of each of them. Also, in the think room, a decision was made about who should be the narrator.
Story form and poetic tone in the structure
Pointing out that “Mother’s Face” is a program with a different feeling and mood as well as paying a different form compared to other works produced in this field, he clarified: We tried to create a new structure with a story-like form in the atmosphere of docudrama and a poetic tone. let’s find Moving away from the atmosphere of conversation and interview made our work more difficult, but it allowed us to come up with new ideas in our own structure.
The head of research and subject identification of the documentary series “Mother’s Face” recalled: Working in an area far from the capital and mingling and living with the stories of mothers from different ethnic groups gave me a different and unique experience, which is extremely valuable. It can be said that it had a double contradiction, that is, at the same time, it was an interesting experience, but the sad stories of the mothers of this border showed me that at the height of hardship and many bereavements that these mothers have endured, it is possible to continue living patiently.
Hosseini about who is the target audience of “Rukh Madar” and what does he have to say to his audience? He said: Maybe at first glance, our audience is the families of the martyrs, but we have tried to pay attention to the stories in such a way that it is not limited to a certain group. The young people present in the society are from a generation who have not seen the war and according to what they have heard, they have an idea of that era.
He continued: With a different structure, we have tried to bring the young generation with us for a few minutes so that they can witness the lives of the heroes of “Mother’s Face” who are the mothers of the martyrs. By moving away from a slogan-like atmosphere, we have tried to portray the current life of mothers whom we consider to be the scourge of society. The audience is not supposed to face a surreal atmosphere, and in my opinion, it is the realism of documentaries that conveys the desired message to the audience in the best possible way.
In the end, he said: All our efforts in the series “Rukh Madar” was to be the narrators of their lives by paying our respects to the supreme authority of the mothers of the martyrs, so that we can narrate the stories that have not reached anyone’s ears, to the people of our land. In my opinion, this mission came to the fore with “Mother’s Face”.
