Pentagon official: The United States has sent 7,000 Javelin and Stinger missiles to Ukraine

“Since the start of the Russian war in Ukraine, the United States has provided 5,500 Javelin anti-tank missiles and 1,500 Stinger anti-aircraft missiles to Ukrainian forces,” the Pentagon official told IRNA on Wednesday morning.

He added: “Because of the existence of missile systems such as the S-300 that Slovakia has provided to Ukraine, Russian fighters are worried about flying over Ukraine.”

According to IRNA, the director of the American company Lockheed Martin announced yesterday that the company intends to increase the annual production of Javelin missiles from 2,100 to 4,000.

The issue of increasing the production of Javelin missiles by the American arms company Lockheed Martin is important because Washington has sent thousands of such missiles to Ukraine to be used by the Russian army against the Russian army.

US President Joe Biden recently visited Lockheed Martin’s company as he called on Congress to pass a $ 33 billion military aid bill for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Lockheed Martin chief executive James Tycklett told CBS that measures to double the production of Javelin missiles would take several months or maybe two years.

The Pentagon also said that Washington had so far delivered more than 85 of the 90 Howitzer artillery pieces to Ukraine.

According to the Pentagon, more than 110,000 rounds of the 184,000 rounds of these artillery systems have also been delivered to Ukraine.

More than 310 Ukrainian soldiers have completed training on Howitzer cannons, according to a Pentagon official.

More than 50 other Ukrainian troops are currently undergoing training. This training comes with a new two-week separate course on the maintenance of these balls, which starts today.

Moscow has warned that military equipment provided by the United States and Europe to Ukraine could escalate the conflict in Ukraine and have unpredictable consequences.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 21, 2022 (March 2, 1400) recognized the West’s indifference to Moscow’s security concerns and recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics in the Donbas region.

Three days later, on Thursday, February 24, 1400, Putin launched a so-called “special operation” against Ukraine, shifting tensions between Moscow and Kiev to a military confrontation.

The war in Ukraine has entered its third month, and reactions to the Russian invasion continue.
