It has doubled the development and it is hoped that the progress of the Qeshm train will accelerate with the start of the implementation of this project as a decades-old dream of the people of the south of the country.

Gershasbi stated: Since many of the southern coasts of the country are not able to accept ships above 100,000 tons at the moment, but also in the future due to technical problems, including environmental restrictions (such as water depth in ports) and financial issues. , will not have the ability to accept. In such a situation, the beaches of Qeshm Island, which in some places are about 40 meters deep, have the possibility to provide the country with a quay according to the world’s standards to accept super heavy ships in this field. make

He reminded: Considering that after the construction of the Persian Gulf bridge, Bandar Kaveh will be connected to the national transportation lines of the country through 92 km of highway and 86 km of railway, it can be said that this bridge will speed up the transfer of goods to Iran and from Iran to It will significantly increase other countries.

The Economic and Investment Vice President of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, referring to the plans made to turn Qeshm into an energy hub of the region, added: 17 large oil and gas fields have been identified on the island, and many refinery, petrochemical and power plant projects are underway. To advance the implementation of these plans and attract investors for their development, the development of transportation and port infrastructures is the first priority, and we hope that with the completion of this project, all the capacities of the island in the field of energy can be used.

According to him, the construction of the Persian Gulf bridge and connecting the largest island of Iran and the Middle East to the mainland is not only economically promising for Qeshm and the country, but it will also play a significant role in the field of security and political stability.

This executive operation has been resumed as a long-standing wish of the residents of Qeshm Island, at the same time as the celebrations of the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, after a seven-year hiatus with a jihadist effort in the 13th government.

The construction of the Persian Gulf bridge as one of the four pillars of the comprehensive Persian Gulf communication network plan, centered on and relying on four projects, port, bridge, road and rail, will create a new route from Qeshm in contact and connection with the commercial corridors of the region and connecting to Creates the country’s road network.

The Persian Gulf bridge project currently has 15% physical progress and today, after a long break, it begins its executive activity in the popular government.

The 3,430-meter-long Persian Gulf bridge includes 360-meter spans and foundations on the sea, a 32-meter deck width, and has four vehicular traffic lanes, a railway traffic lane, and an emergency and pedestrian route. It can connect Qeshm Island to the mainland.

To complete one of the four pillars of the Persian Gulf comprehensive communication network plan, including the development of Kaveh port on Qeshm Island, the construction of 92 km of highway from Kaveh port and extension to the national line through the Persian Gulf bridge, the construction of 86 km of railway from Kaveh port and extension to the national line Through the Persian Gulf Bridge, the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge in order to complete the pillars of the project on the sea requires an investment volume of 460 million euros.

This bridge is located between Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas, and in addition to the development of the North-South transportation corridor, it will provide the development of Kaveh Wharf and the possibility of building a highway and railway along this route.

With the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge, the transit of goods from the Qeshm Free Zone becomes economically justified, so that most of the goods that were transited through the North-South Corridor are done through this bridge, and the import and export of goods are based on a series of Rules and regulations will be easier.

Based on this, the cost of transportation and the transit time of goods from Qeshm Island will be reduced and the cost of goods and services will be lower due to the establishment of a rail and road transportation network.

This project has an important place in the country in terms of economic, construction, industrial, tourism and welfare dimensions and it plays the role of a communication link between the maritime routes of Qeshm’s peripheral coasts to the country’s rail and road transport network along the transit of Central Asia and import and export. has it.

The Persian Gulf Bridge will connect from the area of ​​Laft Wharf in Qeshm to Pahl Wharf in Khamer city and will connect Qeshm Island to the mainland.

The beautiful island of Qeshm overlooks the Strait of Hormuz and the inlet to the Persian Gulf and the Sea of ​​Oman.

This island, which is the largest island in the Persian Gulf, is one of the most strategic islands due to its proximity to the Indian Ocean, the presence of oil and gas resources, petrochemical and refinery units and offshore equipment, and having port facilities for large ships (in the Panamax category).
