The Economic and Investment Vice President of the Qeshm Free Zone Organization, referring to the plans made to turn Qeshm into an energy hub of the region, added: 17 large oil and gas fields have been identified on the island, and many refinery, petrochemical and power plant projects are underway. To advance the implementation of these plans and attract investors for their development, the development of transportation and port infrastructures is the first priority, and we hope that with the completion of this project, all the capacities of the island in the field of energy can be used.

According to him, the construction of the Persian Gulf bridge and connecting the largest island of Iran and the Middle East to the mainland is not only economically promising for Qeshm and the country, but it will also play a significant role in the field of security and political stability.

To complete one of the four pillars of the Persian Gulf comprehensive communication network plan, including the development of Kaveh port on Qeshm Island, the construction of 92 km of highway from Kaveh port and extension to the national line through the Persian Gulf bridge, the construction of 86 km of railway from Kaveh port and extension to the national line Through the Persian Gulf Bridge, the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge in order to complete the pillars of the project on the sea requires an investment volume of 460 million euros.

This bridge is located between Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas, and in addition to the development of the North-South transportation corridor, it will provide the development of Kaveh Wharf and the possibility of building a highway and railway along this route.

With the construction of the Persian Gulf Bridge, the transit of goods from the Qeshm Free Zone becomes economically justified, so that most of the goods that were transited through the North-South Corridor are done through this bridge, and the import and export of goods are based on a series of Rules and regulations will be easier.

Based on this, the cost of transportation and the transit time of goods from Qeshm Island will be reduced and the cost of goods and services will be lower due to the establishment of a rail and road transportation network.

This project has an important place in the country in terms of economic, construction, industrial, tourism and welfare dimensions and it plays the role of a communication link between the maritime routes of Qeshm’s peripheral coasts to the country’s rail and road transport network along the transit of Central Asia and import and export. has it.

The Persian Gulf Bridge will connect from the area of ​​Laft Wharf in Qeshm to Pahl Wharf in Khamer city and will connect Qeshm Island to the mainland.
