Persian Language Protection Meeting | Part 1 / Our national identity depends on the Persian language

Fars News Agency – Radio and Television Group: The “Protection of the Persian Language” package was the title of a new section focusing on the protection of the Persian language, which was added to the news sections of the IRIB on December 11, 1400, and promised more attention from the national media to the preservation of the Persian language. In this section, the speeches of officials and the media are recommended in terms of the use of foreign words and the approved words of the Academy and other Persian equivalents instead of non-Persian words, as appropriate. Under the pretext of “protecting the Persian language” in the national media, Fars News Agency held a meeting on Monday entitled “Protecting the Persian language in the national media” with the participation of critics and cultural experts.
Discussion on the necessity of “preserving the Persian language in the national media”, examining the effectiveness of programs such as the “Persian language preservation package” in the country’s public culture, discussing the reasons for the lack of role-playing by literary figures and Persian language experts The Persian Language Editing Council in the national media and the reference to the implementation of Article 15 of the Constitution in the media was one of the most important topics of this meeting.
This meeting was attended by Ismail Amini (satirical poet, writer, researcher, critic and university lecturer), Nasser Feyz (poet, 7 writers, director of the Persian Language Preservation Office of the Arts, member of the Supreme Council of Music and Poetry of the Radio and Television), Omid Jeloudarian ( Lecturer of Persian language and literature, researcher and senior editor of the Radio and Television Organization) and Mehdi Salehi (secretary of the Cultural-Educational Association of Editing and Spelling, founder of the Institute of Editors) was held at Fars News Agency.
At the beginning of this meeting, Ismail Amini, a poet, critic and university lecturer, spoke about the necessity and importance of “preserving the Persian language” in various areas of public culture: Persian, like all other languages, except for its usual use as a means of social communication between people or a means of transmission Knowledge has one feature and that is that part of our national identity depends on the Persian language. The reason is that our national art is literature and poetry. In Italy, for example, national art is the visual arts, and the visual arts take precedence over other arts. Austria is the national art of music. That is, the identity of that society depends on that art. In our country, poetry and literature have such a place and it is considered our national art.
Referring to the special role of the Persian language in Iran, Amini said: “This is because the Persian language, in addition to its role in other societies, also has a special role in our country.” That is why those who are our enemies are trying to make this language inadequate. The changes that take place in the Persian language are part of the natural changes of the language and part of it is not natural at all, that is, it is intentional. The same thing has happened with other languages, both in terms of calligraphy and language; They have changed the language and script by using force and coercion. For example, in order to leave the Bulgarian languages - when Bulgaria was communist – in order to cut off their connection with the Turkish identity, they changed the words and forced them to write in Slavic script.
So when we talk about change in the Persian language, some changes occur naturally and in accordance with the times. But if someone wants to make changes to the calligraphy, it does not count as a natural change and is intentional. When calligraphy changed, the new generation could not read their ancestral books and could not relate to their past.
Nasser Feyz, the director of the “Persian Language Protection Office” of the Arts Center, while criticizing the current method of “Persian Language Protection” in the national media, said: To refer to a language other than the current language of society is basically a fruitless endeavor. For example, trying to speak the language of the Shahnameh or poetry a thousand years ago will not work.
Regarding the current method of “protecting the Persian language”, the national media has not adopted the correct method. For example, to occasionally consider the verbal mistakes of people as “protection of the Persian language”, but on the other hand do not pay attention to the language and words used in the text of the series or in “stand-up comedies” every word, phrase and any content is presented Is not the right method and will not work. However, if the vocabulary correction process in the radio is carried out in a natural way, such programs will be effective during the programs and using scientific and soft methods.
But in the current situation, the situation of Persian language in radio and television does not follow a specific rule and each of the networks or groups within the organization and even individuals act in their own way. Basically, the work goes according to taste and is not guided by rules.
