Persian leopard was observed in Ghamsar and Barzak protected areas of Kashan


The Director General of Isfahan Environmental Protection announced the observation and registration of Iranian leopards in the Ghamsar and Barzak protected areas of Kashan.

In an exclusive interview with IRNA on Thursday, Iraj Heshmati congratulated the World Wildlife Day (March 4) and said: “The efforts of an environmental activist in Kashan came to fruition after 2 years and he was able to reject the image of an Iranian leopard in the protection zone.” Ghamsar and Barzak will register this city.

He stated that there are Iranian leopards in some protected areas of Isfahan, and expressed hope that with the cooperation of all the people of Kashan, environmentalists, non-governmental organizations and especially the people of Barzak region, special support will be given to this unique species.

The Director General of Environmental Protection of Isfahan stated: “It is hoped that by observing this rare and valuable animal (Persian leopard) in the protected area of ​​Ghamsar and Barzak, it can be used as a sustainable economic source for ecotourism.”

Heshmati added that the area of ​​Ghamsar and Barzak protected areas of Kashan is 60 hectares: the area of ​​this area is less than other protected areas of Isfahan and in the last census last month, more than 1,200 species of the total index, Goats, rams and ewes were counted in the area.

Serious damage to some mines in Kashan

The Director General of Isfahan Environmental Protection stated: Improper exploitation of mines has caused very serious damage to Isfahan province, especially Kashan city.

He expressed hope that by using tourism capacities, animal species and genetic resources could be preserved for future generations, and that the current generations would be a good trustee for the preservation of the environment.

Heshmati expressed his satisfaction with the way the Islamic Republic News Agency was informed: “IRNA always observes fairness and publishes the news correctly and scientifically without bias.”

The Director General of Isfahan Environmental Protection expressed his hope that all media outlets would be able to fulfill their mission in a desirable manner and that all real and legal sectors, citing Article 50 of the Constitution, which is the general duty of environmental protection for present and future generations, Be diligent in preserving the environment and do not violate the rights of future generations.

On December 20, 2013, at its 68th session, the UN General Assembly, at the suggestion of Thailand, adopted March 3 (World Wildlife Day) as World Wildlife Day.

On that day, the CITES Multilateral Treaty for the Conservation of Endangered Species of Plants and Animals was ratified.
