Charso Press: Jameela Sheikhi was one of the powerful actors of Iranian cinema and theater who became famous by playing in the series “Peder Salar”, although she had shined on the stage many years before.
Jamila Sheikhi was born on May 9, 1309 in Zanjan, she was a film and television actress. He studied until the diploma level and entered the theater in 1336. Sheikhi experienced acting on national television before the revolution and became more famous after the revolution with the series “Pader Salar”.
In 1336, he started theater professionally under the supervision of Shahin Sarkisian and Dr. Mehdi Forough from Farabi Hall (Old Fine Arts). He experienced playing on stage for the first time with Strindberg’s “Father”; until he was hired by the theater department. In 1339, when he was 30 years old, he entered Shahshahi National Television with the teletheater “Suicide” directed by Ali Nasirian.
In 1343, Sheikhi directed the show “Qalb Ghageshte” for television, and in 1350 he was also the director of the show “Sentenced to Execution”. He then entered the cinema in 1354 with Nosrat Karimi’s “Khane Kharab”. In 1356, he gained his first television experience with a series called “Hahheh”; But his main activity until the revolution of 1357 was acting in the theater.
In 1361, he returned to the acting field with the movie “Qarantine” and appeared on TV with the series “Tanz Avaran” in 1364; But he did not forget the theater and continued. In 1372, when she was 63 years old, she appeared very brilliantly in the role of Moluk’s sister in the series “Padersalar”. Then, in 1973, he was a guest actor in the series “Hamsaran”.
Jamila Sheikhi married Hilal Pesiani in 1335 at the age of 26, and the result is a son named Atila Pesiani born on May 10, 1336. Hilal passed away two years after marriage in 1337. In 1345, when he was 36 years old, he married Mehdi Qureshi, vice president of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, for the second time. The fruit of this marriage was a daughter named Atusa Qureshi in 1349.
Sheikhi won the Crystal Simorgh of the Fajr Festival for his role in the movie “Passengers” directed by Bahram Bayzaei in 1370, which is his most memorable film role. In 1375, she won Simorgh Crystal for the best supporting actress for the movie “Lila” directed by Dariush Mehrjooi.
In 1379, the TV series “After the Rain” was her last television appearance, and in 1380, the film “Ghaghz Bei Khat” directed by Nasser Taqvai was the last film work of this actress. Finally, Jamila Sheikhi died on Wednesday, June 2, 1380 at the age of 71 due to a heart attack. His body was cremated 4 days later and buried in Behesht Zahra artists plot.
