Although many believe that the popularity of this cartoon character, regardless of the content and the stories told to him, is mostly due to the music and song that Henry Manchanini made for this work. Of course, it is interesting to know that based on what is written about this character in the media and editorials, “The pink panther is actually a panther resulting from a very rare genetic mutation that gives a beautiful color to this animal, and this cartoon is actually for getting to know more about This is how it was.”

In the early 1960s, Freeze Furlong and David Pati founded a company called “Depatie-Furlong Enterprises”. It was at the same time that one day Blake Edwards (the director of the Pink Panther films) in the presence of a person named Peter Sellers suggested to Depatie to use the character of the Pink Panther in the title of one of the films in this series.

Depatie and his assistants tested nearly 100 designs of this character, and in the end, they settled on this skinny pink panther, whose main character design was a person named Holly Pratt. It was precisely in this area that this small piece was placed on one of the Pink Panther movies with the presence of this cartoon character and it was very popular with the viewers.

It was here that Freeze and Depatie decided to create a cartoon series of this character. Of course, Friez was unhappy in the beginning and when Depatie’s talks with Herald Mirish and United Artist’s satisfaction reached the desired result, he was also in the field. They decided to make 156 stories from this collection, and of course, they promised to return 25% of the sales to Depati and Freeze.

The first part of this series (the same part where the pink panther fights with another character over the color of the house) won the Oscar 1964 and the group, with a firmer determination, produced one part of this series every month, which received a stunning reception all over the world, especially in Europe.

He entered the music profession in 1946 and worked as a musician and arranger of Glenn Miller’s orchestra. Of course, after Mancini shone in the music of the film “Abbott and Costello” in 1952, he became famous as a film composer. So that the Universal film company employed him full time for its programs.

Mancini wrote the score for Orson Welles’ film “Mark of Evil” in 1958, which he said was one of his best works of that period. Orson Welles asked him to create a realistic work, and in this film, Mancini created the realism in the best possible way, focusing on the core of the film and adapting the music to it, by employing several street musicians in the style of jazz music.

Now the whole world knew Henry Mancini as a famous musician and composer. Other works of his film music include “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “Victoria”, “Days of Wine and Rose”, “Hatari”, “Walking the Baby Elephant”, “Pink Panther”, “Mama”.

But everyone knows that one of his most famous works is the soundtrack of the cartoon series “Pink Panther”, which was chosen among the 20 best soundtracks of the last century. The soundtrack of the film and the theme of “Pink Panther” written in the style of Jaz. An interesting point is that Henry Mancini based some of the notes on the body movements of the “Pink Panther” cartoon.

Mancini started composing music in the first half of the 1950s, and over the course of forty years, he created some of the best works in the field of film music. Of course, although he created his works mainly in the style of jazz music, his music is not limited to a certain style, both pop and jazz works and classical works can be seen in his works. He has led orchestras such as London Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Pop Boston and a number of other ensembles.

In any case, the music of the “Pink Panther” cartoon series is one of the most memorable and nostalgic title music, which has become the most popular and lasting melodies that people are familiar with, not only in Iran but also in all parts of the world. The music, which at least for the 60s has a double charm that can never be forgotten, and whenever we hear its fantasy melody, we say: “Long live Mr. Composer!”.
