Please do not miss the World Cup opportunity like Expo!

Qatar World Cup; An important event that has almost four months to start and more or less its cultural and economic markets are already formed. In this situation, some experts constantly point out that as the time for this event approaches, one should learn from the experience of Expo Dubai, and this time move with better planning.
According to ISNA, these days, whispers of cooperation between Iran and Qatar to revive the country’s handicrafts are heard, while it is suggested that the approach of the Qatar World Cup is an opportunity to introduce the country’s handicrafts.
To examine whether Iran has the capacity to revive the Qatari handicrafts, this time we spoke with Hojjatullah Moradkhani, a handicrafts expert and researcher.
Which lost handicraft have we been able to revive?
Referring to the importance of the Qatar World Cup event, Moradkhani said: “The point about this incident is, first of all, what plans are to be presented to Qatar and how is this to be done? “Based on what successful experience is Iran going to do that?”
“The problem is that if Iran has enough capacity to revive Qatari handicrafts, they should submit a report that we know of,” he continued. My question is, which lost craft have we been able to revive? Revival does not mean taking managerial positions now that we want to share this experience with other countries. “This is a question that I raise as an audience and activist in this field.”
The researcher in the field of handicrafts added: “Certainly, the nature of this work to be shared is a good thing, and in today’s world, sharing is a good thing, and we must communicate with other countries in order to grow ourselves. “Not to believe that we are the best and that we do not want to have any consultation or dialogue.”
What is the special mission of Iran in the Qatar World Cup?
Referring to the fact that the Dubai Expo event was easily missed, Moradkhani said: “Another issue is that we should not forget that we easily missed the big Expo Dubai event and now it is an event with the same dimensions, ie big and global. In the name of the World Cup in Qatar, if we can consciously use this opportunity, it is definitely a step forward that we can use both to transfer our experiences and to use the economic-cultural market that is being formed, for our own benefit and for “Use handicraft development in global markets.”
“Obviously, given the limitations, we will probably have to use some handicrafts and products that now have good production capacity,” he said, emphasizing a focus on reviving Qatari handicrafts. In other words, in order to be present in the Qatari market, the fields related to wood, metal, pottery, etc., which have good production capabilities and which we can supply, naturally have priority. “We have to use disciplines that are capable in global markets.”
We must have a realistic view
With an expert view, Moradkhani described the proper planning for the Qatar World Cup as follows: “Mainly to be effective in attending an event, we must have a realistic view, not an idealistic view based on what will happen. “If we look realistically, our choices, our plans and the steps we take are based on facts, not illusions.”
He continued: “Mostly strange allegations were made about Expo Dubai, which eventually led us to the first place. The same goes for the World Cup. We need to look at what capabilities we need to use to get the most out of it. “We must put aside the tasteful and idealistic view and analyze, examine and select based on reality, and most importantly, act and implement realistically.”
“The main problem for us in international markets is that we do not know, and because we do not know and have not been studied, our decisions are very wrong,” said the craft researcher, noting that there is no proper understanding of international markets. When we go, for example, to read the import and trade laws of the UAE, Qatar, etc., we realize their tendencies, and as a result we have to know the laws. We need to know the market, the market and the tastes of the audience. “The main problem we face is that we do not have reliable information about the export of handicrafts and the handicraft market inside and outside the country.”
Moradkhani concluded: “The numbers and figures that are presented are often insignificant, and such a situation. Any planning we do may be successful and equally failed. “If we know the markets correctly, we can make good progress.”
The revival of Qatari handicrafts by Iran is a “special mission” that has recently been entrusted to the Deputy Minister of Handicrafts by the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts. Handicraft experts have different views on this mission. Some have hailed the move as positive, noting that Iran should receive raw material services in return. Others, however, see the nature of this as a step forward, but believe that policymaking in this area must necessarily be “thought out” given the problems within.
